  • They are in, they don't want the other immigrants in? Pull up the ladder, batten the hatches...

Like the hong kong guy on a facebook feed (near me) that got in on a VISA so he voted out, cos fuck it that other immigrants may get it easier than him.

  • Discussing this with a friend who said the Cuban populations of Florida are much more conservative than the mostly Mexican populations of New Mexico and Nevada, hence the respective results.

  • Another interesting article talking about the bigger picture, worldwide and through time.

  • Sunday and Friday are for golf

  • Interesting & plausible, but pretty scary. We're in trouble.

  • I think the logic is many of the Cubans first came as political refugees escaping Castro, and so tended to be at least anti-left if not upper class so they identified more with the Republicans.

Mexicans and Central Americans on the other hand were more likely to be economic migrants and have voted more in line with their economic interests.

During the last Obama election I read an interesting article about whether the Republicans should be trying to secure more of the Latino vote on a socialy conservative platform. The rational being that they tend to be more religious and family oriented which fits with a Republic narrative.

I guess in real number terms Trump realised that no matter the large number of Latinos they're not a large enough group to worry about loosing.

  • Und ich fuhle mich gut darauf

  • That is an incredible image

  • Isn't it just? I'd love to get a high quality version framed, I wonder if that's possible?

  • Am fairly sure some of the Puerto Ricans in Florida (there's a massive boricua population around Orlando - a large chunk of my extended family has ended up there) may have voted Trump because of the abortion thing. They take quite a hard line on certain issues - and it's often the evangelicals (evangelical Christianity has become A Big Thing in US Latino culture) who are the most likely to act on those beliefs.

  • If you did find out, I'd like to know too.

  • Why do you need a high quality version ?

    Poster ?

    T-Shirt ?

  • Why on earth would you want it on your wall, reminding you day and night of this abomination? What room of the house would you put it in?

  • 'Modern art' innit. Appreciates after some years. Do a limited (slightly perverted of the original) run and assign some sort of banksy/pure evil-esque signature and sit back......

  • All the photos of Trump in DC have him vibing Boris J "oh shit I didn't mean to win" morning after.

  • Also to add to @hugo7 point on Cubans in Florida, my gf is Cuban and lives in Miami and says a lot of it also goes back to Kennedy and the Bay of Pigs. A lot of the older generation still haven't gotten over this, and have voted Republican for a long time.

  • Why on earth would you want it on your wall, reminding you day and night of this abomination?

I don't think I could put it on my wall either for the same reasons but it's a smashing cover - imaginative and powerful.

    @Dammit call +49 40 3007-2700 and ask, they'll almost certainly speak excellent English. Mon-Fri 8.00 a.m. - 7 p.m. (Central European Time), Sat 10.00 a.m. - 4 p.m.

  • Can you get me the phone number for top pizza?

  • 01582 725000. They're open till midnight, you've got two hours.

  • You meant the Luton branch, right?

  • Thanks Fox, I'll call them I think- can't see an option for quite what I want.
