The American Civil Liberties Union actually sided with Republicans in urging the repeal of the rule, writing in a letter to members of Congress that, "We oppose this rule because it advances and reinforces the harmful stereotype that people with mental disabilities, a vast and diverse group of citizens, are violent."

Difficult territory. The ACLU's point is fair. And obviously it'd be better if nobody had access to firearms. Having a situation where you have to make firearms available to everyone to avoid unfair stigmatisation is just structurally fucked up.

Yep. Bit of head fuck. The liberal in me is like "equal rights for those with disabilities" then the liberal in me is like "even if it's a shit right..."

I know understand why he thinks mentally ill people should be allowed access to weapons.

The execs at Twitter must be all over the place.
