  • not a lot of reporting yet from the metro areas which lean dem...

lots of doom and gloom ITT

  • I'd hate to be in the US right now. Can't even imagine what it's like to be in such a divided country. I've left the UK 2014 and Brexit probably means I'm not going to return any time soon.

Looking at the Build your own US election result tool on the Guardian as things stand it's a 289-249 win for Trump :(

  • You can pretty much be left alone Re politics out West. Generally. But yeah, not fun. Not hopeful. But then, I never was.

  • It's falling apart for Biden. Trump has increased his lead in some of the swing states

  • Well, I’m off to bed. All I have left is that I’m glad I haven’t been drinking - I can’t imagine waking up to all this with a hangover.

  • Fox calls Arizona for Biden...?

  • It's all about the Rust Belt, and those states aren't going to declare until Fri/Sat. Pennsylvania indications looking ok, apparently.

Pollsters had 4 years to sort their shit out, did nothing.

  • I hate this...

  • Woke at 3.30 and can’t get back to sleep, anxiety levels are through the roof.

  • So many shit nights sat up on my own semi-drunk watching Brexit, Trump, Cameron, May, Johnson win. Think I need a new election night approach.

  • Wish I could have a beer now but I don’t think it’s acceptable to turn up to work tipsy.

  • Need to keep a supply of valiums in the house for these occasions.

  • I've got the day off today, and was going to do tonight sober, but just had to have my first beer.

Ohio can eat a bunch of dicks.

  • I’m still not too sure what’s going on, I was listening on the radio for an hour. Republican commentators seem confident but so do the democrats. My head is spinning.

  • Here we go, Trump claiming victory - 'They are trying to STEAL the election. Votes can't be cast after the Poles are closed'. So, he's worried.

  • Andrew Neil on the BBC calling the result.

    A complete mess.

  • As I've said before, what I really wonder about is whether the elections are manipulated through those 'voting machines'. Based on all I've read, I'm very doubtful that they're secure.

  • So they were staying the must win states for Biden were Ohio, Iowa, Florida and Pennsylvania.

Trump has won Ohio, Iowa and Florida. Fuck me.

  • Thought they were must win for trump not biden.

  • But it looks like he might have won Arizona.

  • Except Pennsylvania.

  • They were never saying that. Ohio, Iowa, Florida were the ones that would have made it a scenario where Trump couldn't win. Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin were the ones that really would make a difference.

Georgia and Arizona weren't really likely to be in play, but may be now.

  • The polls had Biden ahead in Florida by about 2.2 points, and ahead in Pennsylvania by 5 points. It's going to be tight.

  • So I shouldn't be worried?!
