Got pretty much everything I need to get the Crockett built up now.
Still waiting on adapters for the rear wheel and I need to get hold of some post mount calliper adapters but I should be able to swap everything else over from the Dolan

So close yet so far!
I was hoping to have everything ready for this weekend, the bottom bracket is installed, forks have been cut down, I've routed the cables but I've hit some snags. The first problem is the rear wheel, I foolishly assumed I could simply swap the axle out on my crossride wheel set. Managed to get the old axle out but it seems that in order to run a 12mm through axle Im going to have to replace the drive side bearings. Luckily my flat mate has a spare set of hunt gravel wheels I can borrow until I can get the mavics sorted.
The second issue is brakes. I'm using the disc brakes from the Dolan which is a post mount frame, the Trek is flat mount. I bought some TRP flat mount to post mount adapters but the bolts are not long enough to go through the calliper mount on the the frame. Going to have to go back to my LBS tomorrow and hope they have the bits I need.

After what feels like months of frustrating incompatibility issues, the bike is almost finished. Just waiting on a set of flat mount Spyres which should hopefully be here this week.

Nice!

After a ridiculous situation where I had to get the mounting holes on a brand new fork re-drilled because the bolts would not thread in far enough to secure the calliper (huge thanks to the wonderful folks at Paradise cycles for all their help!), the bike is now finished!

I am glad you didnt get a BMW gangsta and do this.
Also why cable discs?

That thing looks great fun.

Little bit of me that it.
Im about to upgrade to hydro m6000 brakes because trp spyres and avid levers do not feel great.
If youre keeping flat bar think bout it

@amey I went with cable discs cos I already had the levers and cable housing and I couldn’t justify spending the extra on hydros at the moment. Once the new wheels have been built, that will be the first thing to change.
As for BMW gangstas, just wait til you see what I have planned for my tonic supernaut!@Cupcakes Rides pretty nice, just need to dial in the bar position a bit. Might just need a longer stem but it’s fine for now. Still need to take it on some trails to give it a proper test ride.
@Josh Not going to disagree with you there, there’s absolutely no modulation with the avid levers and spyre callipers. Guess I couldn’t really expect them to feel anything like the hope minis I had on my old mtb but still expected more. Definitely upgrading to hydros as soon as I can

Probably coulda get a set of MT500s for the same price you paid for the spyres tbh.

I am with Bonor, I had this frame and the cable routing is pretty much designed for hydro, lots of tight bends.
I can sell you some flat bar hydro cheap if you want.

I decided I needed a bike for running errands and was about to do the cliche thing and buy a 90s mtb when I found this on eBay and convinced myself I needed a winter road bike instead.
The plan is to keep things practical and avoid my WW urges other than going 1X.
Already managed to get most of the bits I need so hopefully this will be a relatively quick buildCat included for scale

You can’t go 1x when you have a braze on for the front mech. You just can’t
I've been eyeing Crocket frames for a while. Nearly pulled the trigger a couple of times.
