Exactly, I know, found the Columbus minimal 1" a few days ago ;)
It would be the cheapest solution definitely. But by buying a complete frameset I would save at least 1.5Kg. I am not a weight weenie but that would be a huge difference. If I am healthy and fit I can compete with local guys on modern/high end carbon bikes so it would be wort the investment. I will see... -

Thanks! Well, as everybody knows (or should know), if you don't have the legs, you will not be fast enough even on the most expensive and lightest modern bike :)

Get another bike for racing(/crashing). Nice-weather training bike is a fine niche for this beauty.

In response to the one for sale on ebay that went for cheap: Thats been posted a while, just saw the post. I did get the frame! Even more stunning in the sunlight. I have been looking for one for many years, I even purchased 2 off Ebay and the sellers ended up cancelling the auction! I was about to abandon the idea of ever owing one. One small catch though, it has a small crack near the seatstay cap and seattube. should be an easy fix without damaging the paint too much. I still don't know how to build it though.. Campi Vento wheels, Cinelli Grammo (art-anodized) stem,... C-record? By the way very nice build from the OP!

That frame deserves the very best mate. C-Record and Shamals.

I don't think I'll be able to get Shamals ever... But c-records yes. Thanks.

Congrats on scoring that one! C-record sounds good, centenary finish if you're up for a challenge ;) I'm sure people would be interested in a build thread if you're planning to stick around.
