Pulled the Pomperamine out of the bedroom and fitted a pair of Kojaks. The primary problem: The logos are not offset by 180 degrees on 3 out of 4 sides. So much for German quality... Second problem is a lack of space between the rear tyre and the wishbone. Not much room for a mudguard and a bolt head...

Easily modified with a big hole.
I still have these mudguards if you're interested. -

Might help a bit?

That is genius!

A bolt meant for a disc was low profile enough

And a brake nut served as a perfect stand off and had a nice 'shoulder' to tighten the mudguard holders against. The lower disc adaptor bolt sits nicely between the struts and the upper strut clears the caliper with 3 or 4 millimeters spare.
Sorry if some of the terms aren't correct - it's not my first language.

Weird about the stem above, I've got some piegas in an itm eclypse and no problems at all.

Spent the morning building wheelsets, swapping axles, putting in new bearings and removing sticker residue:
Last set is incomplete, because it's quite difficult to build a 36h hub onto a 32h rim... Lesson learned, I'll double check next time I buy a 32/32 hub set. -

Slight setback in the clearout process: I bought another frame... But everyone needs a commuter, and having parts hanging on a bike is better than in boxes.
Traded the surplus 32h rim for an inline 26,8 post and found a X7/X4 shifter/trigger combo in a box.
I've ordered a cheap narrow wide chainring on eBay, which is the last, missing part. The wheels are going to be a pair of WH-R501s with Schwalbe Marathons. I have to figure out if I'm going to mount the basket struts on the fender eyelets, which will require some sort of spacers or mount them on the axle, which will be annoying if/when I need to remove the wheels...

1x with risers and a baskeet is so hot right now

I think I saw someone with the same frame at Oval this morning, lovely paintwork!
-

I have all the parts for an extra one for double hotness ;)

It's quite nice, yeah. There is a slight purple tinge to the black speckles, when it's out in the sun.

Thought it looked pretty cool!
Still thinking of selling that black eddy Merck? ;)

I mounted my wald rack on axels and it's no big deal when i switch out the wheel. plus it's nice and neat.

• #68
I ended up drilling the struts and mounting them on the mudguard eyelets. Seems to work fine.
-
• #69
Yeah, still haven't gotten around to pull it out of the garage, though ;)

So the stash grows and shrinks. @Hulsroy got some bikes stolen, so I've sent him a replacement:
A ratty Marin Muirwoods, which means one less bike in the house. Balanced it out the next day, when this carbon Dolan showed up:
The build wasn't exactly pretty, so a quick change of wheels and stem and it's looking a bit sexier:
...and it's sporting a fat ass:

Now I need to find my Poscas and sort out the brake surfaces, find a nice seatpost and another crankset. I might change the fork for something with a brake hole, but this will do for now.

Fucking hell!
Does this mean I sell the Solan Cre Pursa when I am done?
-
• #73
No, that takes mudguards, so will make a perfect winter beater. It's not like I'm trying to clear out my pile of bikes, is it?

Put the final touches on the Centurion and sold it on to my brother-in-law. The accounts are still balanced, though, as he insisted on me removing a Nishike Master frameset and a box of parts from his garage...

Fin cikel. But the new stuff was free, so its completely justified. Win win!
It was done before your post, no worries ;)
And the bars still look as new.
