  • If you give it to me I'll make plaster board dropouts and glue them with butter

  • Butter or brass, it'll break anyway, right? ;)

  • Unsub

  • The candy shop on the ground floor puts out the empty boxes after closing. Quite useful for sorting parts. Next step is some shelving somewhere for those boxes...

  • Ahh too big anyways

  • It has to get worse, before it gets better:

The parts for the Asmussen build so far:

Deda Piega 26.0 compacts are on their way from Wiggle, seatpost is still in one of the piles, saddle isn't decided upon yet and the wheels will probably be a set of RS10 or RS20's that's in the attic somewhere. Have some new Veloflex Masters as well, but this being Denmark, the Land of Flint, I'll probably put on some GP4000SII's instead.

  • Damn that Asmussen is awesome. love those columbus max forks with a rake, think they look nicer than the straight ones. gunna be a sweet build!

  • So I'm getting a bit tired of this:

But a lot of stuff has been sorted and a few things have turned up, that I'd totally forgotten about including a complete Ultegra 6500 groupset in really nice condition:

On a related note: The Danish Förstemann, @Hulsroy, wanted to start on the track again, so @Simba and me put together a care package for him:

  • sub'd, love things like this, one of the most satisfying things I did at work was organising all the rubbish that my predescessor left behind for me

  • Well, this thread is a reality check. I thought I had it bad! If you find any surplus 1" forks gimme a shout.

  • I assume you'll be doing the mother of all clearout threads soon as well? I can help you by storing some of your rubbish in my flat and paying you for the privilege ;)

  • It's all in Copenhagen. But we've got a big bike fleemarket on Monday, where I hope to get rid of a lot of stuff.

  • @JesperXT please DO NOT allow that beautiful GT to be sacrificed.

  • I won't. Gave it a clean and polish yesterday and brought it to the fleamarket. Some interest, but no sale. Bought a second Specialized trispoke and pondered building it up again.

  • A couple of Deda Piegas turned up today. 26.0mm clamp area, which revealed that my ITM Eclypse is quite obviously 25.4mm. Fuck. I'm now thinking about having the steerer extended and running a 1" Ahead stem instead...

  • those stems with that design tend to be able to flex a bit no? do the old "penny and bolt upside down" trick.

pretty pictures but not exactly what i meant:
    https://janheine.wordpress.com/2012/01/17/inserting-a-handlebar-into-a-stem/

    ugly pictures but good description:
    http://jimlangley.blogspot.de/2011/12/bike-repair-penny-trick.html

i wouldnt worry about "itll fuck my handlebar up" or "it will break my stem".

as i understand 26mm bars in 25.4mm stems on this sort of clamp design is even @mdcc_tester approved (tm) but as usual, i stand to be corrected.

I've done 25.4 bars in a 26.0 stem of similar design, there should be enough spring in a 25.4mm Eclypse (if that's even what it is, rather than just a slightly squashed 26.0) to create the required inverse shim.

  • Hmm...

  • Maybe they're oversize bars?

  • More hmm...

That's not good. 0.6mm extra diameter should only open up the gap in the clamp by 1.9mm

  • errrrr.

shit mayne. just passed on some interwebz knowledge but that doesnt look good..:/

got it off again without too much scratching and swearing?
