Peace in Northern Ireland, every A&E modernised, a minimum wage, devolution, huge steps towards equality, progressive welfare policies, significant investment in education, Sure Start, etc. etc. etc.
Freedom of Information Act, European Human Rights Act, independence of the Bank of England to set base rates free from political interference etc. etc.

One note on peace in NI: The GFA is basically enforcing the two community model. We can't form a government unless the main posts are either Unionist or Nationalist.
Not sure that's Blairs fault, not sure there were any other options, but it's a big issue that could do with reform.
A nice scandal [cash for ash] may finally bring down the DUP a few pegs here, but SF is also involved in another scandal. [nama]
Politics eh? :)

More on the joys of the Home Office, including locking up a Polish guy for....wait for it...drinking in the park for his birthday.
Let's be fair, the HO are total assholes to UK citizens as well that want to bring their spouses in, but if you wonder why some EU nationals are nervous, this is one of the reasons why.

I'd rather a two community model than a return to violence and terrorism.

Greenhell can do it, I actually agree with him on policies on the whole.
He'd better do a better job of leading than Corbyn though.

Woah. What have Gary's done to you?

Say what you like about Blair, but he is on the money with this.

The disconnect between what people believe they voted for, and what they are most likely to get over the long term, continues to astound me. But then you see the vox pops on TV news and people are more insistent than ever that we must Brexify ourselves at all costs.

I can't get behind the Gary persecution but the square plate policy 100%.
-
• #7664
I'm not Garyist. I've got friends who are Gary.
-
• #7665
I'm the least garyist person (points to Gary).
-
• #7666
As long as Gary observes our culture and pays taxes, I'm all for Gary.
-
• #7667
I got mugged by a Gary once so I don't trust any of them now.

Gary Glitter?

Even CNN is at it.

There are 50 shades of Gary...
You must trust at least 1? -

Precisely.
The only workable solution is further neo-liberalisation, and a race to the bottom for the lower 98% of the population.
May's talks with Trump on trade suggest this is exactly what is going to happen. Leaving one trade union where workers' rights and consumers' are to some extent considered, for one where it's all about the bottom line, and the only way for the UK to compete is to strip all regulation away.
"Say, Mable, do you remember the days when chicken didn't give you face cancer, and your boss couldn't sue you for being too poor to pay for your own health care?"
But immigrants tho.

I understand why people voted it in, but it may mean there never truly will be a functioning government.
This two community model is bull anyway. Not everyone is nationalist or unionist, not everyone is Catholic or Protestant in many ways NI can't move forward.
Schooling is segregated as well. It may change again but it could have perhaps been done right in one go. Perhaps not.

Interesting from John Curtice (as ever)

From article: In particular, it does not necessarily follow that because a majority of all voters in most Labour constituencies voted to Leave, most Labour voters in those constituencies must have voted that way.
Oh dear....If he's right that's really a bad mistake to make :(

So EU citizens are denied residence papers if they didn't get CSI...Sickness insurance Brought in 2014, nobody got told, I didn't know. Even though we can all use the NHS.
Probably illegal under EU law.
No residence permit...No chance on some benefits either. You don't get JSA.
Anyways I'm off Monday to do work on this Brexit shit if I can be of help here let me know.
"Nothing in here is personal: HO new motto" ;)
Corbyn is not the future of the party. As far as I can see misguided loyalty to him is just prolonging the suffering.
