I don't mean to be glib, but surely they can import them from ROI or get assistance from ROI to do so via the EU? I feel like I'm missing a key point.

I'd imagine costs are an issue, as yes, in theory you can buy elsewhere.

Medical supply chains I imagine aren't easily changed either due to regulations / NHS rules.

It's far too soon, in political terms it needs to get to the point where people who voted for it cannot deny that it's been badly mishandled by Johnson and his band of clowns.

Even then it could simply reinforce the Conservative vote - for example if the EU apply tariffs to UK goods to counterbalance the state aid that's been flowing into Nissan UK since Brexit, the red-tops will pile in with a "Filthy remained Starmer betraying Britain!" schtick.

And as Brexit will be a death of a thousand cuts we may never get to the point where for e.g. the Hurricane Run's of the UK have their damascene moment.

People that are Cons voters are also more likely to be Brexit voters, and Brexit voters are less likely to worry about money (note that you can be on benefits, but on stable ones with a council house, or middle class but be in an area with stupid living costs) / are pensioners / are older. (statistically speaking obv.)

So not sure in that sense the Brexit mess will harm the Cons much, Labour needs to attract votes.
Perhaps the sleaze scandals will do it, at least in local elections, who knows...

But I definitely hear what you say. I'd say no he isn't - in limited experience of various bits of the country. And I am acutely aware from various recent developments, through Brexit, elections, etc. that I am not in touch with what the electorate think or would vote for.

However, isn't it the same for the alternatives? Hunt - gets a laugh or two when they play the Naughtie clip. Patel - I don't see that she's that popular other than 'getting rid of the forrins'. Sunak - he probably has the least baggage, but do people recognise him?
