Although most of it comes from China where the tariffs will drop.
I thought the largest producer of UK soy sauce is the Netherlands. Maybe I misremember that though.

"Soy Sauce will be cheaper after Brexit"
Finally giving the people what they voted for.

The debacle over soy sauce is just so depressing, the Government are just so desperate to paint something as a win there prepared to just make stuff up and when questioned, they just double down on it.

Amoy, from China, the largest it seems.

Yup, just re-read the article I saw. It mentions that Kikkoman is made in Netherlands but is not the biggest as you say.

And not just on Brexit unfortunately :(
You can use fiction to win an election (oven ready Brexit!) which is bad enough, but now there is a frigging pandemic ongoing too.
Useless and annoying as SF/DUP often are, on Coronavirus they actually do make decisions together and have no problems paying school meals during the extra school closures because they are at least realistic enough to know Covid doesn't care about your political fiction.

So UK trade negotiation team rolls over for Japan but tries to squeeze Kenya and Ghana instead of letting current deals roll over or even improve it for them (there are some details in the EU deal around coffee that could be more generous)

Genuinely lol'd

While most of us are watching the USA the iceberg leading to a "titanic success" and reshuffling of deckchairs is still ongoing...
"Australian style deal" or thin brexit deal which CBI will instantly try to get improvements on?
Mess incoming anyway as IT systems for Irish sea border are not ready, Farage Garage lorry queues everywhere... Sigh.

“...there is a deal to be done if they want to do it. If not, the country is of course very, very well prepared”
It said.
Hmm. Colour me skeptical but I’ve have the tiniest suspicion this might not be true... -

It makes sense if you add this bit:
One EU official said Johnson had not shown “any grasp of the detail”.

Were one searching for a definition of the null set,
it would be the Venn diagram overlap between de Pfeffel and detail. -

boris gets on the phone to europe with begging bowl in hand, starts talking up a deal to be done as soon as he realises trump has lost, that's gotta be a blow to his negotiating power, another gamble he's lost and will cost us in the long run

another gamble he's lost and will cost us in the long run
I'm hoping it saves us a worse fate. No more hope for that great American free trade deal that was unlikely ever to happen, or in a way that would benefit us as much as an EU deal in the immediate.
-
• #27494
Agreed.
I hope this will keep the door ajar for more EU integration in future, a USA deal will make that much harder.
Switzerland - ?
Common market 2?Business groups already said campaigns to build on thin deal start next year.

Likely members of the Biden transition team calling out Boris on Twitter “we haven’t forgotten”
RTE news in Ireland closed their show last night with Joe Biden reading a Seamus Heaney poem over a US election montage
We’re going to have to merge the US politics and Brexit threads

"Prime minister says changes to legislation will protect Northern Ireland peace deal" that Boris has endangered...he constantly undermined May (backstop was a fudge but she tried) now he cares?
Lol I doubt Biden and his team will buy it.

Amazing speech
Although most of it comes from China where the tariffs will drop. The Ministry of Trade didn't seem to know that though.
