• Yes. Or even length ways too if needed.

  • length ways too if needed.

    How? Eye laser beams?

  • Shot air pumps then ? Never needed one but whats the go to now ?

  • What's the go-to mini-pump these days? Needs to cope with tubeless (obviously not from fully flat/unseated) in 28c road and 40c gravel. TVM

  • Good luck pumping a +40c tire with a mini pump

  • I've been using the Topeak Mountain Morph/Turbo Morph pumps for the past two decades on mountain bike rides and never had a problem with them

I've lost count of the number of times they've been borrowed on group rides

  • Have a oneup edc pump (70c size) permanently on my frame, it's too chonky for rear pocket use, maybe doesn't count as a mini pump! Has the advantage of hiding a co2 cartridge inside and a nozzle for using.

Can get a 650bx47c upto 30psi by hand before I stop trying.

If it wasn't for co2 trick, topeak mountain morph or a lezyne micro drive are probably better choices.

  • Lezyne Alloy Drive HV. Again works fine for MTB tyres and fits in pocket. Pocket Drive HV is good too for a really small pump that does large tyres

  • Has the advantage of hiding a co2 cartridge inside and a nozzle for using.

Co2 cartridges can mess up your tubeless jizz FYI

  • And they're bad for the turtles etc

  • You keep turtles in your tyres?

    You monster

  • Co2 cartridges can mess up your tubeless jizz FYI

emergencies only or when I fancy turtle for lunch

  • Relegated a Lezyne micro drive for unscrewing valve cores. The little connector tube bit (technical name) also corroded a fair bit within a couple of months of winter pocket use. Now onto a Topeak Roadie TT, no complaints so far

  • second for this (though mine is not alloy, it is HV drive). mine was attached to the bike (stored in metal shed) and in 2 years still fine no corrosion. I give the core a little tighten most times i use it and haven't had any issues myself. Does big volume good

if you use canisters for anything other than emergency re-seat you're a bit of a dick, those things aren't generally recycled. fun side note these folks are going to make chef knives from laughing gas canisters found in london https://www.clementknives.com/

  • Good luck pumping a +40c tire with a mini pump

It's fine, they only need pumping up to about 25PSI before being usable.

  • I gave up after a few leaky tubeless flats and always carry a mini track pump in my frame bag. Best pump ever, gets a tire up in seconds. Even managed to remount tubeless tires with it.

  • Never had these issues on mine in 4+ years, and you know they get abused.

Best part is that you can service them and replace parts. I am considering the mini HV as my third Lezyne pump! Much more reliable than their lights

EDIT: I refer to the corrosion, the core unscrew happened a few times, but learned to tighten things accordingly

  • I've never had any issues with my Lezyne Pressure Drive... except the other day when it unscrewed my valve core and I subsequently couldn't reseat my tubeless tyre. Not sure that's really the pump's fault, though

  • That's common with Lezyne pumps. Get one that doesn't screw on

  • It’s an aesthetic rather than functional thing and otherwise no issue with it. It was the unscrewing cores that made me leave it behind in the fear that rapid deflation would lead to a tire unseating in the middle of nowhere.

  • Get one that doesn't screw on

Genuinely have never even considered that these might exist, except a few no-brand ones. Even my track pump is a screw-on type.

  • They have some push-on heads to avoid that depending on the pump.

  • Thanks for the tips. Will look at the Lezyne and the Topeak. Would carry a CO2 for genuine all-else-fails situations anyway.
