You should braze on some IS disc tabs.

Plus they're no longer in production and were bought out, so from a collector fetish POV you have a cut off point for "proper" ones.
Basically, if you made a list of all the things you need to make something desirable to collectors, they've got it in spades. Such quality. Much innovative. Many desirable. Etc.

This will be a daily beater, right?

Make sure you remember to lock it up by the thinnest bit of the top tube, yo.

Or don't ride old bike parts cos they're generally not as good as new ones?
I'd wager that the majority of old bike tend not to be as good as new ones.

As insightful as ever.

Of course I would. My daily ride is a 1992 Klein Performance that I bought from a guy in Nebraska. It still has its original press fit bb, and although you can fit whatever you like part of the character is that bb. It is easy enough to find a chainset to fit it.

If the shell is 73mm then the square taper BB can be reinstalled - it's only if it's 76 when something permanent would occur.
I've been having a good look for 7400 and it's not the easiest group set to find.

Some were 73, some 76 - the chap from Phil Wood has talked me through this and we have a solution.
How are you going to work this out? I'm curious.

Glad to see it survived the journey :-)

It's stunning when you see it in the metal.
Also, it's a 76mm shell, and I don't fancy taking 1.5mm off each side so it'll be built up as it could have been in 1990/91.
Any and all NOS 7400 spots - please report them!
