I thought the fizik tape wrap really thin, I used them on build like that.
-
• #403
There's a thin and a fat version. The fat version is comf but a bugger to do neatly.
-
• #404
Yeah it's hard, the leather even moreso but look on point with classic bars.
Thin version work great, but not so comfortable when you're running those tyres at 90's style toomuchpsi

I had bought the neat little Nitto bar-ends, but the width of tape was such that I had to use the hammer to get the supplied plastic plugs in.
-
• #406
You can not push the tape in instead.
-
• #407
Run that past me again Ed, paying attention to double negatives and overall meaning?
-
• #408
You can just wrap the tape without pushing it inside the bar.
Not quite sure how to explain it, I usually just do it.

Meant to take some decent photographs today but the light buggered off before I did so.

Just A M-something Bike?

Jealous at _ bike?
-
• #413
just another mediocre build - you've done some crackers, but this is so, average
-
• #414
It would look a lot better with Campag Athena silver 11
-
• #415
Yeah, really doesn't do a lot for me*. My loins remained unstirred.
*which doesn't really matter as it's for you, not me.

Interesting, I thought that the Serotta would divide opinion but everyone seems to like it, whereas I thought the Klein would be more straightforward in that respect as it's an "as it would have been" build.
-
• #417
Better photography and saddle and it would look amazing.

Needs classic white flite
-
• #419
Needs Di2 and carbon
-
• #420
You set the benchmark too high with the Serotta.

Needs classic white flite
Good luck finding one (in decent condition)! I ended up reupholstering mine because I couldn't find one.

Personally I think it's a strong effort, even just considering the NOS-ness. Is this going to get ridden much Neil, or more Sunday best?
-

A lot depends on what happens next year- a lowest gear of 42/21 and living in the front range of the Rockies = probably not a lot, or at least not without a new cassette.
If I stay here then it'll be used for dry days in the lanes - it's not going to hang on a wall.

You're just jealous of his blue frame pump.

Also worth noting your crankset can take a 38t inner ring.
Actually the rear need to be a touch longer.
