Hey bud,
My 1.75 gravel kings arrived and measure up at 40mm as well. Weird. At least they fit. -
• #756
I'm glad they fit. Just ordered a pair, will see.

• #757
Depends on rim size.

• #758
Shit, I just ordered a pair for my west London folding bike.

Fashionable 23mm rims or old-school 17mm rims?

budget price 650b rims with braking surface?
They come in 32&36h. There's a complete wheelset for rim brakes at €93 too.

Apologies if this has been asked before...
What's the general concencus of 650b-ing a CX bike with 700x40 clearance or so. Generally 650x2.1 or so is going to have less chance of interference/clearance issues than the 700's non?
Anyone?

• #762
The only consensus is that it depends on chainstay design.

Was 650b lost in translation?

Any one else found the gravel kings extremely fragile? I've ridden about 700 yards on them and had one cut all the way through the rear casing and a massivenear cut in the front. Not very confidence inspiring. Have a look at the front. Could it just be unluck? Never had any issues with any other tyres like this.

The white stuff is just salt. And I've only drilled round to the shops on it to get some bread.

It's a tyres.
Something you go years without puncture on the skinniest piece of fabric, but lots of puncture in five minutes of riding around your kitchen.

I am redoing my touring setup so I'd like suggestions for a 650b wheelset, pls.
32h / silver spokes / black wide rims / 10sp / disc / rear 135mm qr hub / front dynamo 100mm qr hub.
Also I'd suggestions for a 2.0" slick tyre for all year touring (maybe schwalbe Big One??) and a 2.2" knobbie tyre for all year offroad (Nano??).
And finally matte black 650b mudguards...MAX budget inc dynamo should be 400gbp. Is that doable?

Big ones are 2.35 (65mm) maxxis re-fuse come in 2.0 which I've used and are good but I prefer my WTB horizons in 47mm

I've come from Grand Bois/Compass tyres and these don't seem much less supple. Will be cheaper if you wait for fresh stock to arrive next year
