Did you get your money back then?
-
• #1103
Nope. They were a special order, so lost out on most of their value. Wasn't difficult to move them on though. Everyone wants them.
I wish the G-ones came in slightly bigger than 1.50, I'd be all over them. -

Has anyone got any silver rim brake 650b wheels going spare? 10speed shimano Freehub... ?
Cheers,

I'm looking for a set of 650b tyres I can use for cyclocross style riding.
Trouble is I only have clearance for 650x45ish tyres.
Soma do the perfect set but £70 per tyre is just too expensive!
Does anyone have any suggestions?

oh, I want that.

Looks like a well thought out frame, actually makes me tempted to sack off my 650b rim brake bike and wait for this. Article mentions CDA / CDF tubesets, would be a shame if they overbuild it though, should be aiming for more like the Equilibrium, but probably too risky with the possibility of heavy people riding offroad.

Seems Genesis have been watching the forum!

Schwable G-One? they're 40mm, more all-road than proper knobby.

You mean @roadwarrior did it first.

If anything, that definitely will turn people away from the Specialized Sequoia which is now even more expensive at nearly 3 grand for the SRAM 1x11 one.

How are people finding their Horizons?
I'm struggling with the smaller wheel size and or tyre. I feel any ride I'm doing is a substantial effort compared to 700 wheels, even when I had £14 Schwalbe 700x45 tyres fitted.
Is it just a case of 650b is great, so long as you don't want to go fast?
I'd rather not switch back, as the Horizons are ridiculously versatile.

Didn't really get along with the horizons. Felt skittish at not even high pressure, and lumbering at the lower spectrum of it.
Not really one to smash times, since I use 26" as a long distance machine, but I've grown to realise the benefit of low weight when it comes to a tyre with a big carcass.Much happier with the gravel kings so far.

I have gravel kings on my cotic, feels fast as my road bike, just floats over bumps and lumps. Maybe it's the horizons?

Maybe it's the horizons?
Yup, think that's the case.
Have nothing but positive feedback from my 48mm Compass Switchback Hill, and it's a mere 415g each, a full 100g less than the Horizons.

have you tried the horizons? I think they are great as well as the gravel kings
I run my winter bikes with horizons and gravel kings (42mm) both tubeless and are very similar, no punctures as well unlike the Compass which I averaged 2 punctures a week on!
Gravel kings are 410g? -
• #1121
Finding the Horizons to be pretty good with tubes thus far, but I'll convert to tubeless next week. They're very nice and comfy on the rough stuff..

I like my them, and mine are tubeless. Took me ages to seal them, but that was more to do the crap schwalbe valves.
Where are people getting their 650b gravel kings from? Also what do 1.5" and 1.75" actually come as in mm? My horizions are a tad snug at almost 50c so i wouldn't mind dropping to more 45
-
• #1123
1.5 is 38mm and 1.75 is around 45mm.
-
• #1124
my 1.75 gravel king measures 40mm on 19mm internal rim

I liked the Horizon, but it doesn't feel as smooth as the Compass, I actually ran the Compass at a higher PSI.
Only punctured on the Switchback Hill once in my London commute, YMMV.
By any chance, did anyone tried to convert a Genesis Equilibrium disc to 650B ?
