No gravel in London

I feel like your argument is with the wrong person - the tracks are there because of practice I find abhorrent, just like lots of the 'gravel' we find. Can dislike everything associated with grouse shooting while enjoying the tracks.

Absolutely not. And you shouldn't be riding on old drive roads either, because meat is murder.

• #20955
Jeez, beautiful. Did you have to travel far to get there?

Frustratingly this is within an hour loop from my dad's front door. The frustrating part being that I live in York and this is a 3 hour journey away. This is far from unique too; there's a load of this around the borders, I could only explore a tiny part.

This looks great. Do you have a route?

Also in the Borders, absolutely no gravel.

Those windmills look familiar; whereabouts is that?
I don't have a route but it's up the Swire from Ettrickbridge to witchie knowe then right at the top and follow the tracks to Craighopeburn head. From there you can take any path down through Bowhill to the bottom. If you're coming from the north then it's up from Yarrow and left at the top.
All (just about) rideable on a drop bar bike with very average handling skill.

Thanks! Photos are from Soutra windfarm, which spans the A68. It’s a great ride - kind of amazing being among 60 turbines on a windy day.

It's from the top of Green Deene to 3/4 the way up Whitedown.
It's a really good surface, gently downhill and no-one around

Seriously though that bike is a beaut.

Oh nice, I’ve looked for this trail before but only ever figured it was the horrible steep looking footpath off the west side of Whitedown and having always climbed it from the south I’m yet to have been in the mood to stomp up

That's okay then, we'll forgive the uber rich their environmental crimes then.
