Cycling round there is amazing. 1800ft of climbing to this point, 5 miles from the start.

While I really do metric, it was meant as a joke ... Nevermind. That's pretty punchy from the get go. How steep is it around there? Straight up some leg busters or steady?

Oh I see! Sorry. It's a mixture of long valley ascents and then some short 25-30% bits around the grouse butts. This was the start of a 5 mile off road descent to the bottom of the valley.
I'm no fan of grouse shooting, but the maintenance of the access roads to the butts makes for amazing riding.
Would have been easier to start off with one !
