Something funny going on here but can't quite work it out.

What’s the go to budget frame that will fit 27.5 x 2.0/2.1 nowadays?
-

Confirmed there's a complete lack of gravel in Lancashire and the South Pennines.
8 hour headwind not pictured.

Looks like he's riding 38cm bars but no aero helmet

First couple are Hornby Road/Salter Fell, last one is Rooley Moor Road. Not the quickest way back from Lancaster but it works. Had forgotten how many packhorse slabs and cobbles there are on Rooley, not fun at the end of a long day.

Rooley Moor Road
That's the second time I've seen amazing photos of that recently, I'll have to go check it out, first one is probably a little out of my current riding distance.

It's absolutely shite, if you go make sure it's going up not descending.

A bit east is Calderbrook, some surprisingly well surfaced and fun to ride stuff over the moors and around the reservoir

Coming out of Waterfoot I quickly remembered why I used to ride it the other way too.
Next time I'll probably take a bigger bike and stick to the Pennine Bridleway just north of Colne. Follow that round to Hebden/Littleborough and then roll back down the canal or something.

I don't really do going up, is there a train station near the top?
-
• #20619
No but you can suffer a bit more big stones fuckery to get to the wind farms, that's pretty good. If you can take the smug looks of full sussers and e-bikers while you ride at walking pace over slabs.

Wide tyres on thin road rims . Just put some 38mm gravel kings on my super thin dt r1900 rims .
I think the rims are 20mm will measure the front one when I change it .I was running 35mm tyres with no problems .
But these gravel kings are looking a bit fatter .Anyone had any catastrophic tyre leaving rim issues in similar situations ??
Mor anyone want to swap who needs some nice road wheels and has any wheels that are wider . -

if not there, then where?
-
• #20622
I've been running 38mm Paselas on 19mm internal width DT TK540 rims for a couple of years with no issues.

• #20623
Many years ago I was running 2.3" mtb tyres on 17mm internal rims down actual mountains
I am still alive :-)

• #20624
Wouldn't do it now, obviously, as optimum something or other...

I have 2.1 tires in the GF'S 17mm internal rims, awaiting for fiery death but she just doesn't ride.
Still a hideous nonsense of a bike
