just no

just giving him more options, I'm not a culprit dealer, just an internet lurker, don't worry, he'll marry your daughter/datum at the end ;)

£1300 is overpriced for an unknown brand with a catalogue design from one of the far east factories. He is better off with Hong Fu in that case.

Are you serious? Do your research before typing bullshit, just in bikerumor there are reviews from 2012 about their bikes...
Also they are more aero than genesis datum, just saying...

If you're dead set against aluminium it's not the bike for you, so far all Bowmans are aluminium.

Oh really?, Iknownothing

Lol. Looking aero =/= being aero
Got any tunnel data?

Might be old news... Lael Wilcox is racing this year, mentioned at the end of this...

"it’s possibly more aerodynamic than the Specialized Venge (something he plans to verify in a wind tunnel in the near future)"
I wonder if that happened?

Looks like a shit version of a Raleigh Banana.

Got any Boardman discount tokens? :)

Out of those 3; Boardman. Looks like a proper road bike; would check tyre clearances.
Synapse is MAMIL chariot. @dancing james has one.
Jamis is ok I guess. There are loads more tbh, get that fits and you like the look of.
My inclination towards Datum is only because it covers all the bases that I want on a budget. -

Boardman will do 28mm tyres afaik.
I was trying to avoid looking at other options in detail because it's hard enough with the three I'd shortlisted. Measuring them up again taking into account the cx forks on most options means none of them really fit that close to my road setup. They're all shorter and taller. The Vault and the Boardman are the closest to my current road bike, the Datum and Diverge are maybe 20-30mm short so I'd need to be running a 120-130mm stem on them to get the road bars in the same position and then if they are too tall, the aerobar position might be compromised. The more I measure the more I think "fuck it, I'll just use the Tarmac".

Tarmac 56cm S/R = 564/395
Synapse 56cm S/R = 590/386
Synapse 54cm S/R = 570/378
Diverge 56cm S/R = 590/387
Diverge 54cm S/R = 565/380
Pivot Vault M S/R = 570/388
Gen Datum M S/R = 585/385
Gen Datum L S/R = 602/395So smaller frame sizes of these 'endurance' bikes get closer to my Tarmac but then I'm going to lose room for my feet - bigger toe overlap with midfoot, maybe lose a bit of comfort, maybe gain faster handling (which could be good/bad for ultra).

Isn't there a disc Tarmac these days? Pretty sure it still has regular QR front and rear for simple wheel stuff...
-
• #295
Yeah it crossed my mind (as did the disc Roubaix) but then you lose the tyre clearances and I don't know how suitable it would be for luggage and then there's the cost..
-
• #296
Just seen the price :o
-
• #297
Yeah, it's fucked. Even insuring my Tarmac with M&S means I was paying insurance on a bike that's now three times what I paid for it!

I think you need to visit Scheritt (not for a fit).

• #299
He's a bit busy but he's already doing some calcs for me. Problem is I keep finding new bikes and then finding new problems with the ones I find. I probably could just use a 'normal' road bike with Di2/discs and stick with 28mm tyres. The longer wheelbase of the 'endurance' bikes though should make for nicer handling particularly when sleep deprived, just lots of them seem to be too jacked up at the front/too short. Top tube can be fixed to some extent with a longer stem but if it's too high I fuck my TT position.

Yep.
The stack can also be taken care of by using -10/-17/-20 stem tbh.
Another one in the mix: Focus Cayo Disc
If you prefer carbon to alloy/ti, for about £1300 you can get (with 15mm fork thru-axle):

And £3000 for the Di2 and Hydro version:
