Should be able to, I’ve got the 45mm (I think) PDWs on my Pacer
-
• #2428
I got the 56mm sks edge al in my cross-check but they did take a bit of fettling, dremelling and such. They're very flat though, so the widest part is further away from the axle, where the frame is tighter.
I'm hoping 55mm round will be fine, going to try some soon.Tldr not a clue

You can add some sort of spacer near the bb mount if it doesn’t fit in the chain stay
Maybe worth emailing Surly before buying anything
Edit; I might be putting my Steamroller back up for sale soon, complete 53cm, feel free to send me a pm if any ones interested

I’ve just realised I haven’t spammed this thread with the Midnight Special’s latest wheel tyre combo.
So here you are;
Mavic Allroad Elite Road+ 650b wheels,
WTB Horizon Fast and Light 650b x 47 tyres,
They are fine on the road, the rough and even the beach, but not so good for SFAB.

Is the white one a steamroller with an IG hub?
really interesting bunch! -
• #2433
Yep, didn't think you could make the Steamroller much more functional but he's managed to get some extra range out of it. Tank though, makes mine (at the back) feel like a weight weenie!

I love the look of that green one

I'd say there's still room for mudguards, a rack and dynamo lighting

What stem is that?
Thanks, Matt -

Average Joe's?
Second time in a week Dodgeball has been referenced on here but sadly no, it's a BJJ gym in South London

What's a fair price to ask for a straggler build nowadays? Looking to eBay for a guide, but there's some nutty prices being requested.
Flat bar set up 2 x 10, but with decent wheels and brakes and some nice finishing bits - CK headset, nitto bars.

What do you want for it? I mean, cash in your hand, what's gonna make you clench that fist and walk off happy?

I have a question;
Are Disc Trucker frames different between the 26er and the 700c models? I seem to remember that the 26er has a shallower BB drop and a taller head tube, but I’ve seen them listed as an either/or swap between wheel sizes frame.
Cheers Ta -

Current Disc Truckers are wildly different. 26" models form 42 to 56 and 700c from 56 and upwards.
Head tube angles are also 1 degree slacker on the 26" from a cursory glance. -
• #2443
I'd not be keen on swapping over the wheels but, if you have a pair of alternative hoops, throw them on and go for a spin

@MisterMikkel @Belgian-Cat
Cheers chaps, on farther investigations it’s a 2013ish frame so is different from the current ones. The frames do indeed have different BB drops, by around 30mm! And the head tubes differ by roughly the same amount. I need to get the seller to get their tape measure out to see which it is. The ad says “26” or 700c” I thought they meant you could run either size, not they didn’t know which one ;D -
• #2445
Remember, 700 with small tyres will be the same outer diameter as a 26 with big rubber
-
• #2446
True, but they only take a 2.1 x 26 vs 45 x 700 so there would be a bit of a drop in diameter. I’m talking myself out of it to be honest.
-
• #2447
I've had 29x2.00 in lht so I bet it'll take like a 26x2.35 or so.
-
• #2448
I’m supposed to be talking myself out of it!
;P -
• #2449
Hmm now I want a pea lime soup frame
-
• #2450
To be honest, so do I - hard to justify, when I already have a german version.
I am considering having a mate modify it with rear rocker dropout and chuck a stridsland fork on it.
I don’t own one but probably can, mudguards should be wider than the tyres, can you measure the frame first?
