  • Well I am excite to see it, and beat you at green mile sprints on it :D

You gonna build up the Tc too?

  • Haha! It's on! (I know you'll kick my arse really)

Regarding the TC, I don't have the room or need to build it, I'll sit on it for bit, might consider making it a rat biek but it's probably too nice. I should sell it :(

  • Those pedals look new???

  • Yeah I decided I'll use the ATAC's from the Bianchi on the new winter bike build when I get around to doing that.

These are NOS I got from ebay last year, I stockpiled on ROC-S and XC4 ATAC'S before the "great midrange Time ATAC famine" began.

  • Update on the Bianchi. Today will be it's last SPFG.

  • Aaahh, I see. I'm stuck with the single spring xc-8's...they're still kicking, although chew up cleats like crazy. It's a hell of a famine unfort =(

  • What are you going to do with the branch frame?

  • Wall art, but for now this project is on hold... Possibly on a permanent basis.

Kinda had an accident on Tuesday night in my mates workshop (not my fault but kind-of my fault) involving fire, lots of fire.

Obviously we're replacing the stuff we set fire to so I might be selling the Duratec.

  • Please elaborate

  • We were using a CAM pillar drill to machine out some tubing, we set it all up and presumed the water jet pump had water in it...

Well it didn't, a spark must have jumped from the metal/drill bit, landed in a load of rags soaked in white spirit and became the beginnings of a rather moody fire.

As the fire was doing it's thing we were outside "monitoring the machinery" from the front door, aka having a cigarette and not paying attention to anything.

  • Oof, nasty.

Well good luck with it all.

  • shit news man, hope you can sort it out without selling it! was growing on me the frame

  • So, due to setting stuff on fire, the frame/forks are going to be sold. I'll be putting up a sales thread soon.

  • Such a shame, maybe sell to someone locally who would be so nice to give you a buy it back right?

  • Yeah I could always ask for first dibs etc. Anyway it would be great to keep this frame within the forum community so hopefully I'll have a buyer on here.

  • sad times

  • Unlucky

  • BUMP. This project is back from the dead.

  • Sooo anyway.......

Change of plan, I've sorted most of the fire damage stuff out for starters which is cool, also I'm not in an emergency to get this built now because I've finished putting my Sunday best together (had the frame lying around for missions), so I now have a bike to ride around on which isn't in danger of snapping in half.

It's a super nice 753 track frame built by Barry Chick, it's really nice, maybe too nice...

It's been two long years since I've had a hipster sled as pretty as bazza and whilst sliding around on it these past few weeks I've realised that I am actually not that keen on having a obviously flashy bike any more. Nearly every day on the commute someone has said "awesomeeee bieeeek dudebroski, like totally bodaciousss". I'm not keen on locking it up, lets put it like that.

So I'll be hanging onto the Duratec and selling my Sunday best instead.

My mate was over just now, I broke the news of this potential decision to and he said "What!? You're selling Barry for the ugly duracell thing?" That was the decider really.

This bike is now going to be my pub biek, after a few years of smashing around town in all weather and getting locked up outside Hermets Cave it will probably be nice and ratty. Well I'm going to give it a head start anyway.

I'll be using the cranks/bottom bracket from Barry, they're nice but not as shouty as new silver omnoms, the wheelset from the Bianchi, a beat Truvativ MTB finishing kit #riserlyf from the parts bin and I need to find a beat up saddle from somewhere, probably on here to complete the build. That plus a gradual collection of stickers and crap and it should be looking horrific in no time.

I can't wait to get this built, I am going to have so much fun smashing around on this not worrying about getting stone chips or shitting it every time I bunny hop road iron in case the front tyre clips the fork crown.

The build starts tomorrow at about 8pm, I'll keep youz posted. (Thats if I've got the right headset)

TL;DR/ New build planned - pub biek.

  • You have to post a picture of the Barry chick now.

  • Yeah I was gonna claim a pics or GTFO too ;)

  • Haha it's now in a few bits but I've got this crap pic on my phone from it's initial build when I got it rolling.

The final build had a 90's nos San Marco Dream saddle and a different cockpit with Soma One compact drops and I slammed the stem but you get the idea.
