So here are some things I've noticed so far. It was getting a bit dark when I bought it last night, but I did realise there was a star but in the carbon steerer and I did question it at the time.
The last owner used it for 4 years like this with no problem and I think the forks are original with the frame, so I don't think I'm going to die, but if I want to chop steerer for stem slammage, should I try and get it out or carefully knock it in further? Pic attached.
The gear cable bosses are also missing. I can't find a direct replacement online, there are similar looking versions for the 585, but I'm not sure if they'll fit.
Also, so many logos... And the paintwork finish has seen better days, but I'm unsure of whether to keep the patina as is or think about a radical respray.

Way ahead of you there. Don't think its gonna fall in my price range at the moment though. I've setup notifications for ergoposts and ergostems. You never know if you'll get lucky ;)

If you respray this I'll petition for a lifetime ban from the forum.
My flouro yellow Fauxnago looks sick with all black parts, I reckon this would too. That ZIPP 17* stem looks cool, another option would be a Ritchey WCS in gloss black, but the colours in the logo might not go.
+1 for gumwalls

Its up to you though they don't look great with anything other than risers, including ^ stem, IMO.
Aussi, when u said "think about respray" you meant respray in the same way as before so it looks just crazy new, right?

Haha!
Yeah you guys are right with the ergostem and the respray faux pas.
I've never had a build that other people cared so much about!

It really does need a - 17deg stem.
I thought I'd experiment with an Ergostem and it was a costly mistake (£120.00 for a NOS one when I could have got something else really nice and carbon for that money). You're welcome to mine if you want it or even just give it a try if you're curious. I really do like them on some bikes but it doesn't work on mine. It might do if I tried it in more positions. Oh, and they're over 400g! and kind of make the bike really front heavy. Not really selling it am I!
What your bike does need however is an Ergopost 2. They're definitely the cream of the 25.0 post crop.
Do NOT touch the paint. I've never seen a skinny tubed early carbon LOOK that's been repainted that's looked better than before they started. -

A la something like this poor KG121.
DON'T DO IT!
It really isn't going to get any better than how it left the factory now matter how hard you try unless you're very very brave and have amazing style and vision. -

HA! So you bought this! I was bidding to replace the 'dale as well but I bombed at the last few seconds.
So good to see it here. Mad excited for this. Gumwalls and shallows ftw. -

Maybe on the seat post...

Does anyone know where I can get a Syntace F139 -17 26.0 stem in 105mm? I can only find 120mm and I think that's going to be too long according to my calculations?
Failing that, if there are any similarly sized and angled stems that you see, preferably without ugly graphics (nice graphics will be considered), then I'm all ears.

Very nice but bars and stem are wrong, far to low.

Where does nltc get the stickers printed?
-

This is good to know. If I alter the steerer length I'll be doing this.

I do the stickers myself. If you need anything done, drop me a message
I know the auction just started and there are already 10+ bids, but maybe worth keeping an eye on this
