Took it into work this morning cos, you know, whatever. I wanted to ride fast in the sun. :)
Managed to snap my chain (poorly fitted by myself), but Cycle Shack in Leyton saved the day with this Dura Ace chain and fitted it really quickly. It's a bit shiny at the moment, but I'm cool with that.

So after riding it today, I think I'm going to make some changes. I've moved the saddle forward a little and I think I need a post that I can make smaller adjustments too as this one won't let me set the saddle at the angle I want.
I've got a 110 stem on the way and might get an inline BBB post . That should add more HHSRB points, right?
I'm also thinking 50mm crabon rims... I mean, I do really like the current rims, but I've got a sickness that means I can't resist carbon parts...

Maybe try the Brand-X inline first to see if inline is what you need, it's cheaper but I've always found them really good.
What wheelset is that you've got at the minute?
-

Just read the first page. 25mm seatpost.

Haha! I know, my post choice is really limited.
The wheels are Cole C24 Lite's. Basically low spoke count Araya rims with a really nice low profile on Cole's super smooth hubs. I like them a lot, but dat carbon craving is driving me wild.

Resistance is futile

New stem arrived from stateside much quicker than expected. It's just a cheap Dimension stem, no frills etc. but the lack of branding coupled with -17 angle and 26.0 clamp means it should be perfect for its purpose.

Inline seatpost and longer stem installed. Riding position nearly dialled in and the ride is much more responsive. I feel much more comfortable with the saddle more over the top of the BB, probably due to riding track bikes only for the last few years.
Just need to chop that steerer nub off really. Wheels, black chain and other bling to follow when cash monies allow it.
Someone buy my Cannondale and help make it happen. πππ

Where did you get the -17Β° stem from? Looks good.

All the sizes and angles you need and so cheap, you don't even have to pay import duty.
I was struggling to find a 26.0 clamp paired with 17ΒΊ angle that didn't look shit. I think this is a decent enough stem while I keep looking for something possibly more bling.

I tried to remove the BBB logos off the seatpost last night with some of mrs roboto's nail varnish remover. Not sure it has a strong enough acetone content though as the logos aren't even starting to rub off...
I'd like to get a carbon USE post in there at some point though.

You can get Acetone from a chemist.

I've got a feeling BBB logos are laser etched. This looks so good in the sun!

Logos like you get on Ritchey and BBB stuff are a bugger to remove, even with acetone. Can be done but it takes forever. Paint marker is possibly easier

someone on here just offered one up:

Would this tape be a good or bad idea?
I'm undecided about whether matching tape colour with main frame colour works. I've got this tape in black and white on my DF3 and it is nice, but not as padded or grippy as the current tape on the Look.

I was brave and decided to chop the stem with the slammed setting turned up to 11. I need to take some better pictures with a proper camera soon. These phone photos don't really do it justice.
One month to go before I travel to Japan and hit the Hokkaido hills. Much excite.
I think I've decided against yellow tape. It probably won't work...

Nice work. That's a seriously sweet ride

Thanks.
Someone want to sell me some 50mm or 60mm carbon clinchers? Nothing too spendy though. Need to sneak another expense past mrs roboto.

You've done a stella job on this mate.
Good work! -

A better picture of the current setup, although not bathed in sunlight as I've not had time to go for a ride this weekend :(

I really wish they made this bar tape in black with yellow or green spots...
-
• #124
I think this bartape really ties in with the saddle; I like it!
The end result is beautiful! Especially like the frame (paint) in combination with the wheels (and tires). Awesome job.
