That's really unlucky. I hope it all works out for you.

• #428
gutted

• #429
Man, so sorry to see that. Hope it gets sorted pretty quick.
-
• #430
I have a hunch it was damaged in shipping.

Was it poorly packed or did UPS take rather less care than they should have done, or both?
-
• #432
Frame itself was well wrapped in foam stuff and then many layers of card. But the box itself arrived with a massive gash. All signs point to UPS.

On the plus side, the orange lettering over a grey primer has come out pink and I think it looks great. V hard to capture at this time of day though.

Absolutely devastating.
Maybe you can use the photos on this thread to negotiate a split paint job on mk ii though?
-
• #435
Haha maybe! We'll see what he says, I have sent the photos with an email saying "help?!"
-
• #436
Dropped would be my guess.
-
• #437
If you were wanting to sort it could a conical insert be used to gradually round it out?
Still can't believe that though, how do you even damage a steel frame like that from dropping?! Looks like it's been runover...
-
• #439
Gutted for you. Hope you can get it sorted.
It was either Hermes or Yodel that (I presume) dropped my 1x1.
Couriers seem to be well versed in fucking up well packaged frames eh?

Really sorry to read about this.
I think Skant has had some good experience with Rych being good at making good a failure of his frame so hopefully he sorts this out as well - was the shipping insured?
-
• #441
Cheers. Skant was with orlowski, but I hope they've the same attitude.
I'm going confident and don't blame rychtarskiat all, its just frustrating - understandably I think.

• #442
Ah - I always get the two confused!
I was really worried when I posted my GT to Hoops the other week and am now equally nervous about it being sent back! :s
Keep my fingers crossed this has a happy outcome.
-
• #443
Indeed, fingers crossed - I mean this stuff happens, but I think I've been terribly unlucky here.
Thanks all for the sympathetic words. Its quite nice to hear.
-
• #444
Ah rich! I just saw this, fucking couriers!
-
• #445
Gutted about this for you. Hope a speedy resolution happens.
-
• #446
Damn that sucks. When i received my pink-ish Rychtarski the box was in the same state. The frame was intact though. But when i sold it and sent it last summer some courier totally wrecked the box leaving a big dent in the down tube.
-
• #447
Cheers all. Rychtarski are chasing the courier for a resolution on this. I'm hopeful.
-
• #448
That doesn't look nice. Feeling sorry for you and hope UPS takes it's responsibillity.
Last week I found near my place 4 boxes (containing chemicals!) in the middle of the street. Probably just coincidence but they were all labeled "UPS"... There's a depot near that place so I suppose the driver didn't close the van's door properly when leaving the depot and lost the boxes taking the sharp curve.
-
• #449
ah shit. ffs. really sorry to hear this. on the plus side love the teaser shot of the paintjob. swift and easy resolution deserved dude. hope it comes your way

Good news - I've just been told UPS are going to collect this and take it back to the builder.
I suspect its going to be a pain in the neck to arrange the collection but its a great resolution otherwise. Fingers crossed they'll allow an evening pickup.
That's really bad news, sorry to hear that.
