Because we all know that colour is the most important part of a bike.
-
• #203
It's the most important, that's why I'm leaving it 'til last!
-
• #204
Omg we are going to have matching bikes! (until I sell mine)
I have a Pro Vibe 110mm 10 deg in my stem box that I dont need ..
-
• #205
potential dibs! I am not sure if I need 100 or 110 on this. (I could deal with either, it's about how I want to feel when I ride it)
-
• #206
... so not for long, then... ;)

I've possibly under-egged the saddle-to-bar drop so far.
Might drop it by 10mm more... I need to get on the turbo with my cross check and try out a couple of different bar heights.

I think that steel forks are great and bespoke ones even better. If you are not racing it probably wont matter much regarding weight.
I have looked a lot for straight bladed carbon forks, but I am not keen on the carbon/alu mix. Should be all carbon for lightness. Otherwise I would stick with steel.
Either way, your bike will be great. Looking forward to seeing it build. -

Carbon steerer, no? http://www.columbustubi.com/eng/4_2_5.htm
Unless you mean the dropouts.

Can 1+ on the latter, very noticeable difference.

Great. I thought they were alu... Maybe I should have gone for those then ;-)
Edit: they are even pretty cheap ;-( 113gbp at kinoko

Yeah I know. Tempted to pick up a pair alongside the steel forks.
I am assuming the axle-to-crown on them is 367, which seems pretty standard, but it's not listed anywhere that I can see.

I haven't found it either. I am pretty sure Peter from Ceeway will be able to answer your question as they stock them apparently. I will write him...

As I said up-thread, if 25+PDW will fit under a shallow drop caliper (e.g. sram force) then I'm sorted.
I'm late to this, but I run 25mm Open Corsas on 23mm Archetypes with PDWs under Force calipers on my Van Nicholas with Enve 2.0.
Clearance is a little tight under the brake bridge, but I've never had any issues or rubbing with it and have ran it all winter through some pretty shitty and muddy conditions. Biggest issue I have, which may just be me because I've never seen anyone else have the problem, is that the wide based arm of the rear caliper comes very close to fouling on the up and over PDW bracket that holds the guard at the caliper. Made it awkward to set up, but once fettled, it's been okay.

@Cupcakes These have just come up on singletrack http://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/fs-trp-euro-cantis-deda-f14-full-carbon-road-fork-jawbone-lenses 330gram straight blade carbon fork, with an a2c off, you guessed it, 367mm. Shout me if you need to get/can't see his email.
Now because this is a cp: what I'd do with them is buy, post to rychtarski and have them painted same as frame. Would look rad :)

They are probably Columbus OEM (at least for tubing) though, so they should be able to get Cupcakes a good deal on the Tusk Straight no?
-
• #217
I don't know, dedacciai produce tubing too, either way these look like a great deal for a fork made by a reputable company and almost a carbon copy (pun intended) of the enve's
-
• #218
Think he meant that Rycht use columbus so might be able to supply their forks as standard too.
-
• #219
What drøn said ;-)
-
• #221
Rychtarski supply Columbus forks.
-
• #222
Cheers all - think I'll still go with the steel forks initially, but tempted to get a quote from Rychtarski for including some paint matched carbon ones too.

• #223
On a related note, I've chosen my paint scheme ;)

Just had an email back from Ceeway. A-C is 367 but crown diameter is ø46mm which means you will have to go for a campy record, FSA pig or other really large external headset as the forks are designed for integrated. If you go with FSA Orbit MX you have 0.5 mm fork crown sticking out from the headset which might look alright, but no perfect alignment :-(
Oo er very exciting. Did you decide on colour?
