  • This looks like loadsa fun

  • I should have bought this when if was up for sale a few years back

  • Sadly not :( I don’t think it was a Moots.

It maybe wasn’t Ti as it had a pretty bright shine.

I’m beginning to think the link, wherever it was, is broken. I used to look at it frequently and seemed to find it with ease.

For the sake of my sanity I might need to stop looking for it.

  • Does anyone know what model this Triton was called?

The bike I’m looking for was pretty similar in terms of chunky tubes and bright finish.

  • Edit: not these

  • It has Enve wheels with white logos, White Manitou fork with reverse arch(maybe the R7), XTR m980 cranks, shallow tread xc tires that wouldn't work in the UK, lots of seatpost showing, either integrated or a silver Thomson, tough as nails gear ratio and I think it maybe had a race plate on the front!

I appreciate everyones suggestions! It is a bit needle in a haystack though...

edit - just occurred to me that it might have been a 26er!

  • Looks like you're going to have to recreate this bike

  • I really wish I had... but I quickly realised that proper ssmtb is only for proper hard nuts

  • Yes, you do live somewhere with proper hills :-)

  • I'm sure I can picture the bike, mainly due to the distinctive fork, but sadly I don't have it saved anywhere

  • I'll never forget the day I singlespeeded my arkose and took it to a local blue graded xc loop. I basically gave up half an hour into the ride and went back to the car.

  • I basically gave up half an hour into the ride and went back to the car

    As we all would

    on a gravel bike...

  • I'm sure I can picture the bike

Right, I'm going to stop spamming the thread with this since I urgently need to collect my daughter from school...

But! I've just remembered it was a 650b hardtail! I'm almost certain... post 9pm I can dedicate all my time to searching for it

edit - this is obvs gonna be a huge anti climax if and when I find it, you'll all just be like meh its a ssmtb

  • i would love one of these it's true

  • post 9pm I can dedicate all my time to searching for it

    We're all waiting...

  • This is so cool!

  • It's been owned by at least 2 people on this forum @IR and @B0N0R

  • It’s driving me nuts. I’ve spent far too long looking for it :(
No combination of ssmtb related search terms finds it.

    I have to let go

  • I have to let go

Time to move on and find a new favourite

    and then download the image!

  • I have to let go

    Unacceptable.

I'm still searching for music I heard 30 years ago. You need to list out everything you think you know about it. Everything! Then try again.

  • I must have spent a while looking for that bike too

Unfortunately it's from before I started saving the bikes I was posting ( to help avoid reposts )

  • I'm still searching for music I heard 30 years ago

It’s 2004, I’m at a Melting Pot night in Glasgow, completely off my chops. I turn around and this young lady is looking straight at me and asks me my name, her confidence is frightening. I can barely hear what she’s saying, she has a strange foreign accent… and that’s when I heard it. An absolute stonker techno tune, the beat is absolutely pounding. There’s this insane sound that send the hairs on my arms on end. A sort of 90’s rave sound. I can see my mates head bouncing in the crowd, every fibre of me is drawn to the dance floor. What is this filthy beat? I need to know. I ask my new foreign pal to come for a wee dance, she looks bewildered and says I should come find her later and walks away. I turn around and lock eyes with my mate on the dance floor, his arms out wide like a Techno Jesus. Is it gods techno?
I found strange foreign accent lady and we got married many year later.
To this day I still haven’t found the tune though. One of the Melting Pot dj’s works for a Glasgow HiFi shop and I accidentally bumped into him in the shop and tried to describe the song to him. He clearly couldn’t get away from me fast enough.
Can’t remember where I was going with all this now really. But one day I’ll hear the tune again and I’ll find this fucking bike.

  • At least you're not desperately trying to find strange foreign accent lady :-)

  • strange foreign accent

    English?

  • It’s like a cross between Borat and the Terminator.
