    Edit: Its been dibbed

  • size/ price etc?

  • Its on the marketplace but £200 + postage w chris king headset, very big fenders and some 9s sora shifters, 32t narrow wide and two rapid rob tyres. Its a size medium so 18". It just looks sad in by bedroom so all good to ask about the price.

  • That's a good price mate

  • Pics from todays first ride proper along the Essex coast from Southminster to Burnham-on-Crouch. Went on road, lanes, gravel, grass. This bike can go anywhere!

  • Re mudguards: been running 65mm bluemels on 2.35 Big Apple's with plenty of clearance. Ogre 18"
Had to cut the stays a bit to get both front and rear closer to the tyres. Also a little extension under the fork for same reason but mainly to allow front rack/basket.

  • Hi. Mudguards arrived yesterday. Look like they should be ok but need to get some brake bolts so I can attach them to the frame. How did you make an extension as ill be running a front rack as well?

  • Rectangular sheet of metal with two holes:) around 3.5cm

not taking credit as LBS did it; I have no means of cutting metal at home. And should probably call it a "bracket"

saw a "nicer looking" solution in an online shop - kind of a tube with holes through it each centimetre or so (so can be adjusted anytime). goes inside the fork crown I understand.
can't find it now, it's that odd thing you see sometimes and dismiss quickly.

    Edit: 'ere ya go http://problemsolversbike.com/products/fender_flute/

  • Had that on the fargo above, very neat indeed.

  • @yakut order placed. Will share thoughts/review!

  • I run a home made Fender Flute. Cost me about 90p for a piece of alu tube from ebay. Has the advantage that whereas the Fender Flute is slim and an just bolts to the front of the fork, the ebay tube is a flush fit all the way around the steerer tube so super secure. And it only has the one hole as needed so neater.

  • Hmm... Need to do something similar for the Troll... best go measure the inner diameter of the forks!

  • I say neater...it would be neater sprayed black and with a more appropriately size bolt.

  • Better than the meccano I've got in there at the moment, to much flex!

  • Don´t you have some pictures of the process? I need to do something similar to fit GB mudguards on a Troll fork but I don´t want to use a plate or that Problem Solvers thing, I need a proper daruma bolt, otherwise the flexing will cause premature failure of the mudguard.

Found this on the interwebs while searching for a solution. Pretty useful but I think, did you use the same technique?

  • Got a set of the Maxxis DTH 26x2.15, what a difference compared to knobblies.

Just need a replacement U brake for under the chain stays (any suggestions?) and a proper frame bag. Looking at the restrap large frame bag.

  • I use a restrap frame bag, can't fault it. Very well made, waterproof, and made in uk, what more do you need?

  • Edit - Just realised it's been in the FBNPNA thread already.

  • I think mine counts if you're allowed to post your own bikes!

Raleigh M-Trax Ti1000 originally. Over winter I was after a bike for just fun riding around, so stripped it right back to single speed, whacked on some drop bars and now it's a pretty much perfect tootling around bike :)

I think it'd probably look better with black bar tape. The wheel skewers and saddle are now all black since I took that photo.

  • Nice bike. Front rack id?

  • Thanks, it's the rack time top it. Pretty cheap and light and loads of clearance. I might get something bigger to take panniers at some point but this works for now.
