  • Looking great. I want to run those tyres on my Fortitude, but like you, don't think the 29er version will get under the guards. What rims did you go for?

  • Yeah, they look good. They also have 650b rim brake rims for 12 euro. Thinking about converting my steel tourer too now...

  • Finally got some mudguards on this:

  • how are you finding those tyres?

  • Great.

Finding the right pressure makes me feel a bit too much like a scoble.
I liked the thread pattern of the older supermotos better, but the ride is very much the same.

  • Nice short rubber-to-rubber distance (the new wheelbase measure).

  • Finding the right pressure makes me feel a bit too much like a scoble.

    This on a tshirt please....

  • Yes going down to 650b meant I could tuk the rear a bit more. I'll measure axle-to-axle and rubber-to-rubber for you tonight, but I suspect the proportions make it look shorter than it is.

  • I know, right...

  • They are on my wife's bike. Whenver I've borrowed it they felt extremely fast, my only concern is if they are fragile, if she gets a puncture in the rear tyre (they are set up tubeless) she will have to get an Uber .. Alfine etc.

  • Mine are tubeless. Never had a puncture, yet. (I bet it's flat when I go to ride home later)
I've had quite some issues with slow flats, but I think that was down to the valves.

  • <3 this bike

  • a bit late, but so happy you get it back and it looks superb! also rear rack in front looks great

  • 1045 mm
    340 mm

  • Fantastisk

  • Any updates to this build? It's just marvelous.

  • I blew a piston seal in one of the calipers and haven't managed to rebuild it yet so currently it's got a moustache type bar and normal brakes on.

No other changes really. I use it almost everyday for nursery run and commuting to work.

  • How do you find those tires? I felt like mine would fuck up my handling like crazy. As if my bars got pulled to turn even harder when i reached a certain point in my turn/lean. Very weird..
    Edit: bike still looks sick

  • If tyre pressure is too low the handling gets very funky indeed. (like the front gets very prone to "railing" by curbstone, cobbles, ripples in tarmac and other small unevenness)
When pressure is right I feel no problems.

  • Just re-read this thread, forgot I had read it already. Classy bike and I'm the proud owner of a similar bike now!

  • I don’t know how the top tube length works out on yours, but it is short enough you should try riding it with at road bike drop bar. It’s fun and comfortable.

  • It probably would suit but I have MTB brakes and gear lever. I'm thinking about Jones bars and a set of bar ends as mini tri bars...... then bar tape the lot.
