That echo my experience, they're the very best you can buy, but make sure you cut them really carefully, I have to use zip tie to tie it on the bar groove to hold it in place so I can wrap electric tape on properly.

So my rims came, very pleased with the finish and apparent quality:
Also a pleasingly accurate weight
Also bought some PX skewers because their cheap
I'm hoping that I can get a wheelset reasonably close to a 1.5kg wheelset with the hubs that are 300g.

Many thanks to Sumo for the bars:

And noblakes for the gears and cranks:
Need to get some BB30 stuff though, I think possibly some bearing covers, need to look into it.
-
• #281
If you buy a BB30 'bottom bracket' you'll get two bearings and two bearing shields.
-
• #282
I have the problem that, dammit glued the bearings into the frame...
-
• #283
Hah, yeah, the QRgate incident. Good times.
They'll come out with a punch tho - are they finished? If not, who cares, just buy the BB and save the bearings for later.
-
• #284
From (possibly unreliable) memory those bearings had one race and one sportive before the bike was stripped down.
-
• #285
You wouldnt still have the bearing covers would you please?
Also any ideas about the DT adjusters?
-
• #286
I didn't use DT adjusters, but I don't see why they would not work.
Bearing covers - I will have a look.
-
• #287
I just found some Ritchey cable adjusters, which I do recall buying for this bike - not sure I ever used them though.
You're welcome too them, anyway.
-
• #288
Would be ideal, if you've got them going spare?
Can collect this weekend maybe?
-
• #289
I'm away to the country this weekend I'm afraid, could leave the adjusters with a friend though.
Or I could drop them off somewhere in town tomorrow?
-
• #290
I'll send you a text

Some more bits arrived:
Hopefully @CleverMike will have the wheels done sometime in the few weeks, I ordered the cables too. So I've now got to get some tyres (think I'll try Vittoria for a change) and sort out the missing bits from the BB.

Any recommendations for BB30? or should I just get SRAM?

-
• #293
Yep. Just get SRAM. Work well.
-
• #294
heh, it's just a pair of bearings and plastic discs - there's not a whole lot that can go wrong :)
If you want to spend some money the Token Tiramic BB is just about cyclocross-proof

• #295
Do like this. White tape and saddle, and King cages (or Arundel steel) to go with the raw section of the frame, would look great.
-
• #296
black tape, black saddle
-
• #297
No white saddle, everything else is looking nice
-
• #298
Black saddle and tape were aquired some time ago, sorry chris
-
• #299
I could be up for those ti axles if @Mechamorgan doesn't want them...

Also that frame is lovely. Can't wait to see a full build.
Well one thing i've taken away from all the reading i've done on them is that everyone says that in your hand you'd swear they were made of solid lead, but they're in fact no heavier than normal cables. I saw several people on WW agreeing to this.
