Quite like the vermac corolo jersey. I wear this over a short sleeve jersey and a altura thermocool base layer. Once I am moving I am fine.
Defeet Woolie boolies rock too. I need more pairs. In fact everyone in my family is getting some for christmas.

Woolie Boolies or Rapha winter socks?
My toes were ice cubes yesterday, even in my winter boots and PlanetX merino socks.

Woolie Boolies or Rapha winter socks
No experience of the Rapha, but have never been disappointed with Woolie Boolies. Great winter socks.

Woolie boolies have kept my feet warm. Without them I get chill blanes. with them I don't.
Pain or no pain? you choose. Now if the only did gloves

Is that even a question?

How thick are these woolie boolies, will they cause problems with "well fitted" shoes?

I picked up a 2nd hand Lusso Repel Corsa jersey and armwarmers in good nick from eBay. I've been wearing them with a short sleeve baselayer, buff and bib longs since it's got really cold and they've been amazing. Proper windproof and warm enough once you're moving.
Thinking about getting the Lusso repel jersey/jacket thing or their thermal aero+ jacket (although the latter does look a bit star trek) and both are pretty pricey...

Yep, no-go

It is a question - the question is - there are two highly rated winter socks, which one do people recommend.
I am canvassing for opinions on those two available options. I have a fair amount of nerve damage in one foot after my back surgery which means my sensitivity to these things is constant and significant.

Rapha-man and fellow foot nerve challenged individual. Rapha winter socks? Yay? Nay?

Not tried them, I have got multiple pairs of the Wooly Booly, and use in combination with the Lake MXZ303:

This sounds very Rapha socks to me. But then I am biased as no Rapha but merino Rapha fits me anymore.

Which shoes in winter?

Let me guess, in keeping with your standard Rapha sizing policy you use size 18 socks?

I bought new Lake mx175s for this winter. Clearly I didn't buy the well insulated ones.
Urgh. Will find some Wooly Bully - most places are out of Saquatch sized options. May have to go Rapha because, in stock.
Thanks for the feedback all. Much appreciated. May you all be blessed with a visit by the #rep fairy.

Just over two hours on the bike this afternoon, average temp of 2 degrees.
I was wearing Brixton CC socks, Sidi Ergo 3's and Sealskin wooly shoe covers, and this is the horror that resulted (for the strong of stomach only).

Haven't you got nice winter shoes?

Are there any good non-merino wool winter socks? Couldn't find any in the local bike shops.
