Looks like Bill Pruett has just started - good luck and a safe year ahead to him.

wonder if this could get a bit forest gump
I think that would be lovely.
From his calendar he's in Cambridge, where I am, quite regularly. I'm going to try to find out exactly where and when and gump along with him for at least a bit.

today steve appears to be having an internal battle to avoid going sale shopping at bicester village; draws close, then revolted by his base consumerist urges, wheels away, shaking his head...

Looks like Steve has covered 1200k in under 90 hours. Audaxers will understand the significance of this.

Just found out about this, not been on YACF for some time
Ive cycled with Steve a few times and know if anyone can do the job then its Steve
The guy is just so hardcore

Chaps and chapesses, he needs us to get out there and give him a tow. Many have asked the organisers for itineraries so that they can join in and help - do your bit!

I'm impressed at how consistent and conservative his effort is. Blimey, only 90 watts average! On a day like today, so cold and misty, I'd be a shivering wreck after only 2 hours at 90 watts. A master of his craft indeed!

Haha ^ that is excellent.
As a thread alone we could probably pitch in and sub his Premium cost, no?Also, very keen to join him on the road ASAP - fixed wheel of course, his usual choice of equipment.

Glad to see Teethgrinder take a crack at this. If anyone can do it, he can.
I used to enjoy reading about his Audax endeavours when I used to frequent YACF way back when. -

Looks like Strava cloned him?

Something kinky just happened to his Strava for 3/1/2015 - looks like he has 2 similar rides posted
but the two profiles look completely different ... -
• #94
Snap! Ah thats good, he'll be done by June!

One was the Strava app on his 'phone, the other was his Garmin 1000 but they reported different distances. I believe his team are speaking to UCMA (who are ratifying the record attempt) as to which one they can use given that (I believe) that the UCMA have agreed to go by what ends up on Strava.

It's fixed now, only shows one ride for 3rd Jan.
Looks like they've gone for the longer one.
[EDIT] Or someone has flagged one of them.

Another just shy of 300k in the bag.....and these are supposed to be the easy months at the start till his fitness improves! Strong work

Yeah, hes doing great, got his route distances well sorted.
This thread, started 2012, makes interesting reading, when Steve (Teethgrinder, or TG as he is also referred to ;-)) was being encouraged to think about the record. https://yacf.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=58795.0
I've spent a lorra lorra less time on my bike since Steve started his epic quest! Riveting!
