  • I found this nice link to a youtube live stream
of the you-ro-sport coverati of this Giro, good quality

  • Having a clear out and I found this picture I took at Paris-Roubaix in 2001. Museeuw getting a push after a puncture. There's a young lad on the right who looks happy with his souvenir.

  • Ace pic!

  • Fantastic sprint from 8th position by Greipel, now most successful German in the Giro ever, wow. Jumped out past Ewan like a Gorilla-in-the-box (as mr De Cauwer put it)

  • Ewan didn't stand a chance and Mezgec's lead-out was perfect so he's out of excuses now. He'll have to re-think his strategy if he wants to race with the big guys.

  • Looked like Ewan was turning a smaller gear? Had no speed on Greipel!

  • I'm fairly sure the physical strength that comes with full maturity will be enough. He's only 21 remember.

  • It takes time for a young sprinter to get into the rhythm of GT sprint finishes. He did well at the Vuelta last year, but is still on a learning curve and both he and the team know this. And, as @T-V rightly points out, he's still very young.

  • Great stage today. A pity that Dumoulin cracked.

  • half the TT rained out, sad for the top 10 (11 ;-)) riders, especially on a highly technical course like today's. former ski jumper Roglic sure proves to be a great talent.

  • Odd u turn so close to the end - estimated 1 in 4 riders have gone off around the course. Was there fir eroica a few years back - when it rains, you're practically swimming.

  • You should have posted that before Zakarin went on the course so he could have read it. :)

(I still love the Italian expression 'la strada bagnata'.)

  • yearly 'why cant every race have the ATOC tour tracker' post. this shits so good, whys everyone so far behind

    (obviously, money but still)

  • Agree, they even added the ToB this year.

  • Great pic, that.

  • He will have ridden that pretty hard knowing there was a chopper with a minigun chasing him.

  • Reminds me of the time when his uncle Francesco used RAI helicopters to stop opponents/get a push on hard stages.
    Awesome picture.

  • Lol out loud

  • tv directors should use this wonderful thing to keep track of the rider(s) in front and actually film the finish ;-)

  • Landa DNF - will they fire the BBQ chef?

  • Sky and this race dont seem to get on.

  • French commentators were making much of the fact that Landa doesn't seem to get on with the Sky training regime and has his own (external) trainer. Reminded me of a certain JTL... Anyway-they were confidently stating that Landa would not have gotten sick if he was in good condition. Apparantly over-training "fragilise l'organisme". This attitude may also be why there has been no French Tour winner for some time...

  • Is it still Jalabert on the french comms?

  • God no, it's BeInSport that's got the rights to the Giro and journo Emmanuel Barth with ex-quickstep sprinter Cédric Vasseur commentating-I quite like their mix of humour and analysis, makes Sean Kelly completely bone-dry by comparison.
