Dumo in pink again, still downplaying his chances at the end cause he says he's 'in it for the tt's as preparation for Rio Olympics', and 'didn't do any altitude training', but (is it me?) he's looking even skinnier than he was in the Vuelta. Anyway, pretty exciting final today

Fuglsang always looks more up for it than Nibbles-I hope he's allowed to go for some stage victories rather than just towing him along for three weeks.

I loved how much that stage win meant to Diego Ulissi and Lampre Merida. People who don't win that often always seem to appreciate it infinitely more.

He's won 5 of them! That's way more than a lot of people.

Anyone remember the 2005 Tour, where Hincapie won a mountain stage ahead of Oscar Pereiro? Seems a deal was struck for $/€50k, but Hincapie never paid;

I've often wondered about these that are struck on the road eg Vino et al. How do you ensure payment or is it a matter of honour?

Honour, and powerful friends. I reckon Vino knows a few nasty fucks. Though I'm not sure I ever heard of anyone paying Vino to lose?

smart and strong riding by Dumoulin again. I like his style and secretly hope he has more of this up his sleeve. Every second he can put into the likes of Nibali and Valverde (who didn't look that good today) in the medium mountain stages and the tt in Tuscany will make it harder for them to pass him in the high mountain stages.

I see Greipel won a sprint stage when Kittel was off the back. Like Kittel in the Netherlands, he won it by multiple bike lengths.
