so what did Millar say about Boardman - did he criticise him for not being bitter enough after his retirement from a clean racing career with way more Olympic gold medals?
you can imagine Boulting and Imlach at the end of each day- "come on Ned lets go and get wankered and leave these two at it"

I, for one, welcome our new French time-trialling overlords.

TBF they have spent alot of time and effort in last year or so actually riding a time trial bike in training rather than just pulling them out the Service Course on the morning of the stage.

Didn't see who attacked first, he was away with Tejay VG. Dropped him in the last 3 km. Pissing down with rain. The others got close at the end. Beautiful scenery.

They nearly caught him.

I really enjoyed the last bit of footage from today's ToY, the whole last 5km ish from directly above, really interesting to see how the teams try and organise and force their way in to a good position.

Hugh Carthy took his first European pro win today, with the opening stage of the Vuelta Asturias.
Edit: He did, of course, win the Tour of Korea a couple of years ago. It's his first European win.

Holy shit
I was watching it without commentary when they had over 100km to go and every little town or village they went through was packed with people cheers, there must have been thousands of spectators along the route.
