  • Have Ineos lost a rider? Eurosport talking as if they are a rider down...

  • Porte chucking his guts up way out the back.

  • Quite un-Porte like. Is he ill?

  • Abandoned with gastroenteritis

  • That’s a shitter.

  • Really annoyed that there's no live coverage of the RideLondon Classique - I'm pretty sure GCN/Eurosport would have more than happily showed it here in the UK (they are in Europe) so to me it reeks of BBC getting dibs on the coverage just to show some late night highlights for two thirds of the race on the red button. Literally no advantage for the race and the sport in it being on the BBC since it will only be people who are actually interested in it watching it at least until Sunday. Frustrating.

Edit: side note - I wonder if one could complete the 230km of the Tour of Norway stage without pedalling? 🤔

  • The 2022 BBC coverage will comprise:

Friday 27 May (BBC iPlayer and Red Button): evening highlights of
Stage One of the RideLondon Classique Saturday 28 May (BBC iPlayer and
Red Button): evening highlights of Stage Two of the RideLondon
Classique Sunday 29 May, 15:00 to 18:10 (BBC Two): live coverage of
Stage Three of the RideLondon Classique and highlights of RideLondon
FreeCycle and the RideLondon-Essex 100, 60 and 30 The event will also
be available to view internationally on the following channels:

Eurosport/Global Cycling Network: Europe, Asia and North America
SuperSport: South Africa and sub-Saharan Africa.

  • Yup - evening highlights only, no live coverage available for the UK bar the final day ☹️

  • What a ludicrous finish

  • Lol finish.

  • Reviewing it now

  • Good thing there was a gap in the barrier there

  • Id be pissed if I was schmid

  • Not sure he’s got anyone else to be pissed off at, other than himself. He should be happy he stayed upright IMO. Quite impressive.

  • You don’t think he was squeezed into the barriers and forced to brake?

  • I think Bouwman was almost a bike-length ahead and took the racing line. Schmidt would have to expect Bouwman to let him through to be pissed off that he didn’t.

  • Could sprinters lanes have helped?

  • Not in this instance. Moving the finish could have helped. But I like a technical finish. More dangerous are the high speed low-radius bend finishes.

  • No where near a bike length and it could be argued…. he deviated from his lane!

I think he would have won regardless but he forced Schmid to slam the brakes.

  • Not in this instance

    lol

I thought it looked like Bouwman put everyone in the fence, but I haven't seen a replay

  • If there hadnt been a gap in the barriers in front that’s a bad crash caused by Bouwman.

  • You’d have to argue the final sprint started before the final bend. Really awkward finish.
