One guy from maybe cofidis also rode on the front and did a gesture above his head which I assume
meant break closed which would have made me think fuck you I’m attacking every time you try to piss, drink or eat even if it got nowhere.
Surely in other sports this sort of behaviour would lead to talk about bet fixing? -

All of cycling, like F1 contains an element of match fixing. It’s impossible to police even when it seems clear (like Rigo and Vino)

Isn’t F1 only within team? That’s significantly different.
I think it maybe gets a little grey with points and breakaways vs stage etc
Also it could very easily be policed if so desired.

There’s enough rumour around engine suppliers asking for favours (ignore blue flags for a few extra corners) for example that I think it can spill over.

Isn't that difference though as those sports doesn't hold up an image of honour? I really like that part of cycling. Moments like when Wiggins waited for Evans a few years ago lifts it above other sports

Think Lloyd has pretty much nailed it on commentary. The fines etc are a bit meaningless in the circumstance.

Hermans FTW.

Do you really think cycling is an honourable sport, as a whole? Cheating is as old as the racing, riders "mafias" arranging the wins among themselves, race organisers sabotaging the virtual winner etc etc... It does have its moments but even without mentioning the d word I'm not sure it has a moral high ground over other sports.

I like how GCN pride themselves in "cycling without interruption" and then place very own GCN+ commercials and chat about you getting subscribed every chance they can.

Wiggo has said he received inside information to say Bernal's back is in pieces. I guess time well tell if its true or not.
-
• #34990
I believe the exact term was his back is "hanging off"

It was more that he said Ineos didn't have anyone that could fix it makes me wonder how true it could be. You'd think that they would have been very prepared for that possible situation.

Maybe they need a real specialist
