Bernal is a pretty good bike handler no?
This seems somewhat overlooked.

Silver and bronze world cross country mountain bike medals as a junior.
Also training on and descending down suspect Columbian mountain pass roads. He can probably pop a wheelie too.

Yeah just seems a little more understated than others.
Also has to help weighing as little as he does. -

I agree. We hear a lot about cyclocrossers, and Sagan, and their handling but I don’t think it was talked about a lot wrt Bernal

Will we get Bernal vs Pogacar at the Vuelta?

Naïve question, given Bernal's dominance the past couple of weeks (and assuming it continues to Sunday), is there no chance Ineos will consider taking him to the Tour? I know the whole back issues and nobody has done Giro/Tour double since what, Pantani?! But if he says "I feel good, I can do it" will Ineos flatly refuse and stick to plan they set out at the beginning of the year?

no idea, but i'd guess that would rock the boat in the team. Plus is the tour is a week earlier this year? Which would prob make it a tougher ask.

Thanks. From that clip it does seem like managing his back is front of mind.

Doesn’t yesterday prove that they could’ve done the whole stage? How many crashes were there?
Ass savers were all over the peloton.

Doesn’t yesterday prove that they could’ve done the whole stage?
Whole stage = more fatigue & colder = increased risk of crashes. I think they made the right call.

These photos are great!

I’m going to make a wild guess that there are more crashes on hot dry stages, when riders are pushing the limits, than on wet and cold stages.

The shorter stage delivered excitement a GC shake up. What more did we need?
Not like we got to see much of it anyway.
well they don't give them away to anyone....
