Pretty dull stage overall.

Why can't they put an exciting stage on today between the classics?

Trek Segafredo are out of GW due up Covid positives so no Pedersen or Stuyven in the mix.

Are you sure? I know Trek-Segafredo's men's team is out, but there's been nothing from Bora-Hansgrohe on social media to suggest they are out too.

Is it a knock on from E3, which they were out of?

Possibly, but usually you'd expect them to confirm their absence.

Flanders Classics CEO Thomas Van Den Spiegel has spoken about Bora-Hansgrohe being denied the start this morning: “There’s the fact that 17 people from Bora have been marked as high-risk contacts. Once they’re quarantined, there’s not much we can do. Yesterday we informed ourselves in detail about their situation. This morning there was no other option for us than to inform them that they were not allowed to take the start.”

Strong group away at GW. Bennett is the only Deceuninck rider there so it’ll be interesting to see how they play it.

I don’t think Ineos have even sent a full team.

The channel of death down the middle of these concrete roads gives me a terrible sense of dread on behalf of the riders.

I actually watched a Zwift race the other day and enjoyed it until I was told to turn it off.
