No idea where Porte is in relation, but he also got caught.
-
• #3228
Aru is going to be in pink.
-
• #3229
porte was behind contador, losing more time..
-
• #3230
Another 2 minutes lost for Porte - if it wasn't all over before, it is now for him. Guess they'll switch to looking for a mountain win now? 5 mins off GC is just about enough to be allowed to attack out of the bunch.

Poor old Porte. Pretty much everything's gone against him, short of having a nasty fall.
-
• #3232
Scratch that, reckon Porte was brought down in the crash.
-
• #3233
Anyone see Contador spill? Did he land on his shoulder?
-
• #3234
Looks like he fell on his ass - very lucky if so.
-
• #3235
Stage managed italian win then.
-
• #3236
All Italian podium no less!
-
• #3237
Well, that's buggered everything.
-
• #3238
Where was Uran?
Scratch that - twitter to the rescue. 2 minutes back, sixth overall.
-
• #3239
Safe, I think. He's now about 6th or something, still 2 mins or so down.
-
• #3240
Back to supporting Uran knowing of his family history.
-
• #3241
We can still boo Aru and Bertie! That's loads of fun anyway.
-
• #3242
That's the tesitest I've ever seen a usually unflappable and good-humoured Porte. Which is sad.
-
• #3243
one of those interviews that should never have taken place, what are you hoping to get from that? Porte just wanted to get to the bus, and they should have tried to get one after he had a chance to collect his thoughts...
-
• #3244
Yeah, no surprises really.

Did Titchie Ritchie run over a black cat leading up to this Giro?
He is shit out of luck, that's for sure.
-
• #3247
Feel for Porte. Just having a bad time. Sometimes you get no luck.
-
• #3248
This couldn't have gone worse for him... and such a strong start to the season...
-
• #3249
As Flecha said (who I think has been awesome, btw - I hope he's around more often), a podium finish is still within his reach if he wants it. Would be an excellent end to a pretty crap story.

Even so far back Porte will be marked heavily, especially since he should be able to take some time back on Aru in the ITT. Podium has to be the target now. However if Sky had bothered to put together a proper sprint train for Viviani they may have avoided the crash #justsayin'
Contador down just outside 3km
