@Turd_Fergurson When I say Friebe on Cross was superb, I mean in superb form…funny. It will definitely piss off any cross fans. But I enjoyed his cynical take on it as it’s exactly how I’ve been watching it. (Although keen to give it a go.)

But I agree, I thought it was remiss to say the women’s racing would be covered on the women’s podcast, then proceed to only talk about men’s racing for the hour.

True enough. For all his cycling knowledge (road) and love of the sport (road) he is a very dismissive person. I feel like you may have been watching it wrong if you feel cynical... conversation topic for the next ex-polo turbo waffle party.

friebe always has a kinda above-it-all vibe on that podcast imo, unless they're discussing italy. very often a weird vibe to the show too - the three co-presenters often seem like they don't like each other, with friebe in particular not v.receptive to some of the needle

meh. i hate the romanticism of road cycling and think it (the romanticism) is a right load of wank, but i get what he's saying.

but i think cross is much more fun to do than watch, to be fair. and i love mud and cold and rain.
