some fat fuck car designer
He's not fat. Nod bad looking as it goes.
Hennyway, I make a 4.6% performance gain worth about 15 minutes at P-R so I guess it'll be a sprint finish between the Sky riders.

How on earth do you even come up with a figure like a 4.6% performance gain? Such bullshit marketing.
-
• #1729
I'd have thought the 50% comfort gain was even less credible, given that there is no recognised measure of comfort. Couch Newtons, perhaps.

Cinelli made a suspended monostays (and fork crown) Laser 30 years ago, the project failed as soon the first prototype was presented:

Haha yes. Perhaps they measure gooch inflammation at the end of the race
-
• #1732
50% gain in comfort? Easy, just count the blisters on the tester's butt crack.
-
• #1733
I reckon riders would rather have +10% performance and +10% comfort than 4.6% and 50%. Anyway the quantification is clearly arbitrary.
If they've genuinely improved both performance and comfort whilst staying within the rules then this is a great success of engineering and sport science. If.

Why the hate? Surely it just brings them in line with trek domaine decouple wotsit, specialized's elasto-thingies, bianchies clever layups and the like? Technology gooood.
-
• #1735
Probably not the bike, more a case of marketing putting people's backs up.
-
• #1736
Bike companies marketing departments and cycling fans, such happy bedfellows.
-
• #1737
I personally hate the meaningless marketing spaff coming from the gobhole of the Global Brand Experience Director, because he reminds me that I work in marketing.

Oh, and as we're doing sus-road-bikes-not-porn-fairly-anti, Cannondale's Silk Road claims to have been proven on the cobbles of Paris-Roubaix but I can't find any pics.

Today's Wiggins Watch;

He's taking it one race at a time, not thinking about Roubaix yet. A career as a football manager awaits.

Dario Pieri needed suspension though, he was a lump.

Looking a bit of a unit in that top pic, certainly!

So RVV, I fancy Kristoff, they'll have to work to distance him, and he'll Paolini pulling for him. Heart says Geraint, but I think everyone will be following his wheel

I've got a feeling about Stybar.

Unlocked handsets £30, meet me in the back room of the boozer. As seen on Gumtree.
Did Jaguar completely take over on Pinarello R&D at this point? How could this thing ever been approved by UCI in first place?
On another note Brad seemed to like Minai's (now his) 1996 Bianchi...
