Caleb Ewan. Verrrrrrrrrrry good.

Cav ain’t having much luck. Time to retire?
-
• #15404
He was in the peloton on the approach to the Poggio just over a week after crashing and breaking a rib. His underlying form is clearly very good, why quit now?
-
• #15405
Surely he’s going to need some time off after this crash...
maybe he’ll come back and win Paris Roubaix just to spite his haters! -
• #15406
Of course, depending on the injuries, but as long as he has the hunger to train and race why should he quit just because of bad luck? If that was the criteria, Geraint Thomas would’ve retired a few years ago.

Unconfirmed reports that Cavendish hasn’t broken any bones, but has whiplash injuries.
-
• #15408
Timed to perfection. Wow!
Sure was...
How he must’ve dreamed about winning Milan-Sanremo since he was a kid.
...and it was great to see Luke Rowe not just back riding again, but doing some strong pulls on the front towards the finish.
-
• #15409
WOW, what a finale. Sweaty palms here for the entire descent and run-in into San Remo.
-
• #15410
I didn’t quite mean it literally. But as they saying goes, quit while you’re ahead. He’s having no luck right now. Hopefully at the tour this year he gets it all paid back.
-
• #15411
Rowe finished too, 13 minutes down, but given his injury and the racing he's done this year, that's impressive.
I imagine Krists Neilands secured a WT contract for next year today too, that was an impressive attack and he hung on to finish with the front group.

Also shouted an impressively loud ‘FUCK ME!’ in front of the kids when I first saw that Cav-crash.
-
• #15413
Cav's landing didn't actually look THAT bad. He seemed to flip and land on his back without putting any limbs or similar in the way. I'm sure it fucking hurt. But he didn't look very twisted or and nothing seemed to jar too much. Which was pretty lucky really.
-
• #15414
Yeah, he should have got up and finished the wimp!
-
• #15415
Looks like he launched himself off the bike but still it was fast why wasn't there a marshall there? Even though it was a marshall car that fucked him in Dubai.

Dimension Data team doctor saying there are no serious injuries on Twitter - full details from the team shortly.

• #15417
Got a mini heart attack when he hit the spectator’s phone at 500m to go.
VAI NIBALI! -
• #15418
Shoulda grabbed it and selfied himself as he crossed the line
-
• #15419
Rowe is amazingly quick recovery. Impressive.

Thanks, I’d not seen the final placings. Really pleased for Luke, and Neilands definitely one to watch...
He was in the group behind Mohoric in Larciano a couple of weeks back (a finish not unlike today’s) and that was the first time I’ve seen him. Hopefully, he doesn’t take any calls from Brailsford, Vaughters... : )

My god what a race was forced to watch rugby so just caught up. Not a fan of team or rider but fucking hell so deserved in the win. Magnificent race, chapeau

Wow. I just caught up with this because I was travelling.
From Twitter:
Riders who have won all three Grand Tours and two different Monuments:
Felice Gimondi
Bernard Hinault
Eddy Merckx
Vincenzo NibaliI love Nibali.

He probably ought to have three monuments given he was beaten at Liege by a convicted doper.
£4K Cervelo spent on that paint job. Not surprised they wanted to get another season out of it!... doubt they be stumping up for a do-over with his current ability of keeping rubber side up.
