Probably the other thing that was proved today (as if there's any doubt) is that Sunweb don't have a team to support Dumoulin.

You can argue about the class of some riders pushing on when he was trying to get back on, but you're going to have a difficult time winning a GT when things go wrong if you don't have a team to support. Full marks to Tendam for giving it a go before he went bang though.

This has made me want TD to win more than ever now.

Thursday and Saturday look key. No reason he can't stay in pink if he recovers and the TT gives him a nice buffer (on paper).

I suppose the main caveat is that his teammates are starting to look cooked.
