There are a lot of ifs in this. Equally possible he had a dodgy stomach today and could be on top of the world again tomorrow.

One lesson here I think is that if a GC rider goes down leave him the fucking ditch and keep going, you probably won't be rewarded for your kindness in return

Magnificent stage. The way Quintana waited and then, so tenderly and caringly, wiped clean Dumoulin's dirty bottom, that is real sportsmanship. That is what makes this sport we all love, so great.

I didn't watch it live, but just read Tom was smashing back the gels and the commentators even noted how many he was going through compared to others. Was that really the case? If so, isn't that a rookie mistake, no wonder his guts gave up and he was moaning of stomach cramps
