Yeah I've got one, will put it up either tomorrow or Tuesday

It's interesting how the older guys pace themselves better than the young 'uns.

Aussie Aussie Aussie!
waits for tester to point out it's only the fifth fastest of all time or something
-

My auntie once did a faster time, but it wasn't recorded.

So, is Wiggins aiming for 55?
-
• #482
I've ridden a 1 second hour record before. Smashed it.
-
• #483
The hour passes much more quickly if you ride round the top of the banking.
-
• #484
Surely the athlete wants as much time to complete the hour as possible and so should ride at the bottom of the track?
I estimate that riding at the bottom would gift the rider a valuable 2.3388597e-14 seconds relative to riding at the top.

That's decidedly second hand.

Thomas Dekker's Koga hour bike in progress:
and a talk show host next to the complete bike ;)

I hope it snaps in half during the attempt, the lying fucking cheat.
The UCI want an untainted record and yet are allowing this joker to have a go, at altitude as well.
May as well give it back to Sosenka if he gets it. Do one, Dekker >>>

he comes from a big team of former dopers but he's humbled down quite a bit since he served his time. even wrote a book, like the much respected David Millar!

Are they going for the Hour Record? No? Irrelevant.
O'Grady was a hero of mine and now he's tainted. My small protest involved unfollowing him on twitter and not buying his book. I no longer trust him nor think of his achievments as special. It sucks to be honest. Neil Stephens wasn't really much in my 'cycling window' so.. meh.

Adaptations the body makes while doping remain in place for an unspecified/unknown amount of time. There's no way he should be allowed to go for the record after his years of cheating.

At least someone's finally got their tubs right.

I know (just the hormonal ones though innit?) but UCI does not punish dopers with lifetime bans
Are they going for the Hour Record? No? Irrelevant.
in a black & white only world: not irrelevant in normal racing either...

I'd be interested to see whether that would pass UCI regs - as the saddle is <5cm behind the bottom bracket he's only allowed 75cm extensions. He's 6'2 or something so would be really cramped if so.

you can see more of the bike and his position (albeit in casual clothing) from 7:00 in this vid (works in Firefox, Safari, not in Chrome)

Works in Chrome for me - that doesn't look too comfy!

OK good, the RTL web site said it wouldn't.
Comfy, hmmm... Dekker explained on the show that he did a 95% test the other day (and was happy with the result) after which he was so sore that he couldn't get into his car, had to call a friend to drive him home. He's now on his way to Mexico.
What surprised me most in the talk show interview was that he said he was finally doing his utmost again to be successful, almost implying that he has not done that for the past couple of years. Then again, he's quite the individualist and this is all about him only, so that might give him a boost.

That journo fella looks familiar.
