  • Wow. Only just registered this. DMC Zone sold me a delicious Ciocc frame, which has subsequently moved on to pastures new. I barely knew him and our interaction was limited to some messages/meeting to hand over the frame. Even so, it was abundantly clear that he genuinely wanted me to enjoy the frame. I don't want to sound mawkish but he certainly seemed like one of the better ones.

  • Very sad news. A stylish man with beautiful bikes. Only met him a few occasions (purchased a 531 T shirt from him, which I still have) but a true gentleman is the impression that I had.

  • only just seen this. what sad news indeed. he'll be missed as a tweed run regular. RIP, and my condolences to his family

  • I too have only just seen this. I met DMC once. I bought some bars off him; he admired my pedals; we chatted bikes. He was a thoroughly decent guy. Sad news indeed.

  • Only spoke to once or twice...seemed a decent and pleasant bloke....condolences to his family...RIP

  • Rocking my Red Awesome T today.

  • :)

  • Dwayne's pic keeps popping up in my LinkedIn feed.

Proper, proper gent - still missed

  • +1 I seem to be thinking about Dwayne quite a bit. When I heard he'd passed, I was utterly broken, mainly due to realising that our last meeting was a goodbye but I hadn't clicked that it was (modesty was Dwayne's way), and due to circumstance when I heard.

    What a nice man.

  • I met his wife and son on the Tweed Run and it was lovely to chat for a bit to them, especially having been through something similar not long before. Really nice people, just like DMC.

    Ride on chap.

  • Oh wow. I just emailed Dwayne and thought I'd Google his user name and I find this. I bought his Kingsway frame 6 years ago whilst I was in Australia. I had it sent to my parents and I ended up staying in Aus a lot longer than planned. I'm now back and was looking at the frame tonight. We emailed a few times over the years and he asked to see pics of the build.......but I've never built it.

RIP Dwayne, we never met in person but you were friendly and polite when we emailed each other.

The headset is getting pressed in next week...

  • A suave don.

  • If anyone would care to donate towards commemorating a seat for Dwayne at Herne Hill then please check out this thread;

  • Wore my 531 t shirt to ride to work today. Wish you were still around Dwayne on this beautiful morning.

  • Wear them constantly, they are always high on my list of favourite t-shirts to wear..

  • +1

  • Wish I had one :(

  • I have two, one in black and one in grey, both size small; you're welcome to have one.

  • There is ZERO chance of me fitting into a Small. But thank you for the kind offer. I guess the GT is my abiding memory of Dwayne.

  • That's a pretty good reminder though dude!

  • Truesay...

  • Seeing this thread and then seeing BDW’s post just above fills me with a huge sadness. Two of the loveliest people on here.

  • 8 years ago today. Wish I'd taken a better shot
