My plan is to tack south to the coast and follow it round to Belota. I don't fancy going through Cherno as what I've just read makes it sound like sniper alley. Hopefully meet with folks by or near the tents/airbase?

Server kicked me and I couldn't log back in. Tried another and lost all my gear - MP5k, Blaze, Pistol, Fire Axe, bags, food, can opener etc. On the coast somewhere. Will get back to Balota by nightfall.

WOooooo hold on there... did you actually die? I have had that, lost all gear when changing server, just don't do out, log out, log back to the other server, and you are all good.

To make matters worse I spawned up in the north east corner on that port town and was walking along a flat road when both my legs broke so I'm crawling around trying to find a fucking axe to chop down a tree to get some sticks to make a splint. Got a Mosin though..

Respawned in Cherno again. Got kitted up. Cock with bandit mask came and axed me while I was being chased by Zs.

You finding melee is really awkward?

Hit and miss. So to speak. It's definitely very different but I think it's manageable so long as you stick to the prescribed "strafing in circles" method: Side step around target and aim at head. 2 hits with an axe deals with most things. The trouble early-game is finding an axe.

I didn't try to enter melee with guy in the mask as I thought he might try and help me instead of KOSing me.

Kos is so fucking lame. I'm on the coast by the airbase, happy to wait a day or two if someone can get down to join.

Popped into the airbase and grabbed an AKM which is going spare if anyone can make it south. The tents are gone though!

Tents are gone? Bullshit, I liked those for a quick raid to get kitted up.

Melee- I have found aiming for the chest much more effective than the head in .49

It rains in the buildings in this iteration but doesn't make you wet.

The tents at Balota have been relocated to Myshkino.

FFS.... might have to head there then. Busy week ahead so not sure how much game time I will have.
I have a Mosin and an AKM atm, just found out you can saw off Mosin's and put them in your back pack! Might have to try that... or get a burlap sack for it.

On tonight, though will be under the influence so perhaps a little rash in the decision making arena.

Got to say it seems much harder trying to keep abreast of temperature. I'm constantly getting cold. Zombies seem like they do more damage but maybe I've just been unlucky as it's not in the changelog.

I'm in the woods to the north west of Zelenogorsk. There's a big radio tower there and I thought I'd go check it out. Not sure where the game devs are at with base building but when it comes, this is the place. Even if it's just pitching tents there... Huge big tower with a climbable section offering views over the whole area. Near to the new military base to the north, near to Zelen/other towns to the south. Could really dominate the area if a regular team controlled it.

Worth exploring at any rate - some good loot in it and the adjacent military buildings.

I still don't have a gun. I have a fireaxe (at last after making do with a pickaxe) and a pair of binoculars. Ammo for every gun in the world, but no gun. Will be on sporadically for the next hour or so and maybe very late tonight (12+).

Thats shitty luck falling on the last step. I've been reckless with stairs even jumping half flights but might calm it down now.
I've still got a spare akm but might chuck it soon if no one gets to balota as I don't want to run about with a gun out, especially one with no ammo.
I'm currently cold too but I'm just ignoring it. Have failed to get healthy though - maybe the cold is the issue.

Cold is definitely an issue regarding being healthy. Need to basically be inside for prolonged periods (10 mins + ) and make sure you are wearing all clothes you're able to (no free slots) and that none of them are ruined or, even worse, wet... Otherwise you start either slowly or promptly cooling down. Sitting by a fire helps warm you up faster. Eating cooked food helps too.

Just about to log on. No idea where I am - town inland a way from the east coast. Going to try getting back to the new military base in the north west.

reg guns, just don't want to look like a legit target, I guess a KOS player would prob KOS regardless but that firefight we got into in the NWAF with the Nomads was, I'm pretty sure, due to the person we ended up killing, panicking as they came out of the tower to see 3 fully kitted up and masked players, I don't think they were usually KOS...

Are these the relocated tents? Look a good place to go if so... no high ground for snipers... apart from the woods...
