Brambilla was upset that Rovny was disrupting the pace line in the break. Rovny reached across and laid a hand on Brambilla, who responded with a slap to the face. Their remonstrations/pushing continued for 100 metres or so more, while Brambilla's teammate Poels drops back to keep an eye on proceedings.

Ken-Yok is a machine, 100km+ out front, then dropping back to give Skelator a tow. Great stuff. I felt sorry for the non-Saxo fighter. He was stupid to react, but he didn't seem to be the instigator and didn't even land a proper punch, just looked like he was trying to get the hand off his jersey.

Ha, Ivan Rovny couldn't get a lift back in the team car and had to ride the rest of the course despite the fact he'd been disqualified.

Feel genuinely gutted for those two riders - what an awful way to go out of a tour.

Looks like you only get disqualified if a) it's on tv and b) you're not a Spanish rider in the hunt for the podium.

That's disappointing. I thought Rodriguez was in the not an asshole camp.

Brambilla is ex Bardiani, which says it all really. Full of fire. Rovney clearly winds him up and probably deserves the Kelly endorsed smack in the chops.
