Shit didn't realise you all went down! Hope you're all ok
-
• #255
Yeah, Matt's bike went out from under him and there was no time to react, even if there had been time there was no grip whatsoever!
My lovely saddle is even more ruined than it was before now...
Was an awesome ride up until that point though, meandering kind of pace and a beautiful morning.
Whilst we were stopped several cars skidded on the ice, so it wasn't just us silly people on bikes struggling with it!

All Steel 17: New Year Revolution
January 18th, Meeting at 8.45 for a 9am start.
Now that we've all had time to finish our Christmas chocolate, get back to work and actually start doing all those things we promised ourselves we'd do in the new year, it seems about time to get together and go for a bicycle ride. For a bonus test of new year resolve, we shall be starting at the slightly earlier time of 9am. Carpe diem... et cetera... and absolutely back in time for lunch!
As always, this Sunday morning's ride will be open to all, and we'll tailor the pace, route and distance to the riders fancies, as well as the weather conditions.
Meeting time: 8.45am
Départ: 9amRules:
Please remain with the group, and follow the marshals at all times.
This is not a race.
You are responsible for your own safety during the ride. Helmets are very much recommended, and lights are always a good idea.
Please make sure your bikes are ready to ride.
Steel Frames are encouraged, but not mandatory.

Freezing temps and snow forecast for Sunday. Might be a run after all.
-
• #266
Forecast isn't looking promising for a ride :( running can't be presented as being as much fun!
-
• #267
Met Office are saying a feels like temp of -3 for 9 am Sunday.
Time for a reeepost -
• #268
In true forum spirit I may have to bail on the Sunday run, I forgot we had a venue viewing so if the times clash, I'll be going to that!

Sunday's ride...
-
• #270
Average speed of 13.5 sounds much faster than I felt we went!
-
• #271
That's cos it includes me getting to and from the ride! ;)
It felt horribly slow, no offended to the lady that came along...

Aha, that explains it. It was good to have a fresh face, but when it gets warmer I do think we'll have to split between lycra and social again. It's great having new people turn up, and Gretchin was cool, but I think we should try and match the people that come into groups with several leaders so everyone's riding at a conversational pace. I'd hope to get back into double figures again too in Spring, so we might need to run in split groups anyway if we get good numbers. Food for thought anyway.

Yeah definitely, the split groups seemed to work pretty well during the warmer months

Sunday 29th March at 9am...from the DH for an undisclosed amount of miles...
Clocks go FORWARD just to add to the confusion!!
Be there, or don't...the choice is yours!
I went out Saturday and it was wet but ok. Opened the curtains this morning and went straight back to bed. Saw the DH photos on the gram and was glad I didn't risk it. I'm too old now, I don't bounce any more if I come off.
