Is J really worth the visit? Seems a bit lonely stuck out West on its own like that.

Its still not that far in total and we will be stopping 9 times not including mechanicals and brain freeze.

I think so, yeah - it is worth the ride over. And you get to do col de Richmond park along the way. Richmond Green is nice too, and there are a couple of nice looking pubs I want to try.

I like the idea of it, sort of pulls the ride out to a nice length too.

why not start at J?

It's a loooong ride to the next joint. And I think it would be nice to end up there, mid afternoon, for a spot of chilling on the green or by the river :)
